I have a 1995 Nissan Sentra GLE. It has 140,000 miles on it, but runs great! The only problem I have is an oil leak that is getting worse (have to replace about a quart and a half each week).

I'm pretty sure it's the oil pan gasket. Only problem is, when I go to remove the oil pan, I can't get it down without taking off the exhaust, which I don't want to do because I'm afraid of damaging the exhast pipes (as you can imagine they're rusted in place).

Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated. I don't want to have the mechanics work on it because they want to charge me $80 to "find" the leak, then they'll talk about repair costs. No Way! Nissan wants to charge me $250 to replace the gasket. Again, No Way!

you might have a front main leak instead. i have a 97 sentra and i had to change the front main seal about 4 times. if it is your oil pan there is no gasket it is just rtv. to get the rusted bolts loose just get some loose juice and soak them down good. hope this helps
