95 Nissan Sentra - Oil Leak: Help PleaseDJS 10-28-2003, 12:50 PM I have a 1995 Nissan Sentra GLE. It has 140,000 miles on it, but runs great! The only problem I have is an oil leak that is getting worse (have to replace about a quart and a half each week). I'm pretty sure it's the oil pan gasket. Only problem is, when I go to remove the oil pan, I can't get it down without taking off the exhaust, which I don't want to do because I'm afraid of damaging the exhast pipes (as you can imagine they're rusted in place). Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated. I don't want to have the mechanics work on it because they want to charge me $80 to "find" the leak, then they'll talk about repair costs. No Way! Nissan wants to charge me $250 to replace the gasket. Again, No Way! robgrim 10-29-2003, 11:09 PM you might have a front main leak instead. i have a 97 sentra and i had to change the front main seal about 4 times. if it is your oil pan there is no gasket it is just rtv. to get the rusted bolts loose just get some loose juice and soak them down good. hope this helps DJS 10-30-2003, 12:18 PM Thanks Robgrim. I've got a date with my garage floor this weekend. :iceslolan DJS 10-31-2003, 12:50 PM robgrim, One more question, do you have any tips for fixing the front main seal? Like is there a particular area this is especially troublesome? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
