that's a bargain blackfto, well the info is no probs. also I forgot to include is that the front bumper is the original but I think he either had a custom to add onto the bottom or there's a ready made 1 by a company which sells them.

there's a site called tension fto or something, it has alot of resources about the fto, I suggest u load up google and do a search on it. its worth it.

if I'm not wrong, I think the front lip (bottom of it) is made by mugen, or a clone.

actually the bodykit is a TOPMIX body kit.

Kit comprises of side skirts (Veilside copies?), spoiler, rear 1'4's and lip spoiler...

I'll have to dig out the link to a company that supplies it....

yeah it looks like veilside on first impression, but your probably right, I've seen a lot of veilside copycat coming up.:D

FTO_DEMON
01-21-2002, 03:57 AM
everyones doing a form of Veilside copy!!

The actual Veilside skirts for the FTO don't look like the ones on the supra which is real silly!

Anyways it's all lots of cash...cash that I dont have! =(

Webmaster_Zeus
01-23-2002, 05:47 AM
yeah that's right, the veilside orginials is more "slick", smooth, not the curvy wavy design like for the supra.

wooooow. so rich. i admire you, being able to buy a veilside aero kit. nice work. i wish i could buy a veilside kit. not for a honda though.

Spec2 Girl

I find the veilside kits too much on FTOs (just my opinion though :p ). They are such a way out looking car to start with. I’d really like De Quatro side skirts for mine as they are really subtle. I saw a black GP version R in a UK car magazine last year and it had those side skirts and it looked AWESOME! Just the right amount. I wouldn’t mind a Version R wing either. Those look great! :D

Fto girlee, you've changed ya look!!! :D i like!

The D skirts ya like are really nice and understated! I prefer tha top mix skirts kinda veilside stuff

I also like the creative sports front bumper, and core sport rear spoiler!

Nick B, you been to the Jcars website????

Yeah Fto girlee, check out some of these websites if ya after FTO knowledge!! (but i guess you are THE FTO GIRL! so's you know that lot eh?!:p )

FTO Girl, You're not the only one who likes the DCuatro over the Veilside.
But LOADS of UK FTO's have the DC and the Veilside is like Rocking Horse $%£. I have to say I'm not a big fan of the TopMix kit... the nose in particular.

The other reason for getting the Veilside is that a company over there in AUS is making some copies and the £ to AUD rate means the full kit comes in at about £500.00. Over here - an original kit is anywhere between £1,800 and £3,000. Total rip off. So - no I'm not rich, but resourceful.

Just put some new wheels on my baby - OZ Vela 17" (just couldn't afford the 18's :)

Anyway - speak to you all soon

Nick

p.s. the company with tons of kits over there is www.carmate.com.au

It's good to see an FTO forum here. I don't own an FTO myself, but my sister owns one, a white 95 FTO GPX with 18inch chrome Trilogy's. She's had it for about a year, and it's her first car. My Dad bought it for her for $23,000 (the day after she got her P's), but she smashed it two weeks later, which cost $10,000 to fix (her fault, required a front cut minus the engine). I must admit, I really love that car, and take it quite often.

Hey BlackFTO, you're Nick Porter from the fto_australia mailing group aren't you? I'm on that same mailing group too (Jason).

Didn't know there was an Australian FTO mailing list. Are Kiwis allowed on it :p and if so, what's the website address?? :)

My sister was luckily unhurt. Apparantely, the accident came about when her friend began nagging her because she needed to take a piss. She was in such a rush that when she tried to turn off the Highway into a Maccas, she didn't see a Commodore coming the other way. The Commodore saw her and slowed down, but they still hit each other, but at low speed. The car took a one and a half months to repair, and was returned in good condition.

The homepage for the FTO Australia mailing list is:
http://home.iprimus.com.au/soiso/

I think there's around 85 members at the moment. Feel free to join, it'd be pretty good to have some Kiwis on there too. It's a good place to ask for some advice, or learn a little something new about the FTO.

I actually just sold mine a few days ago. The price all depends on which model you are after. The GS and GR are a bit cheaper than the GPX or Version R. I sold my GPX for $15,000, but they are a lot more expensive from dealers  . It was an awesome car and I really miss it. Very different to drive than my new car. If you do end up getting an FTO and go for the GPX, beware as there are a lot of FTOs out there that are badged as a GPX when they are in fact only a GR. A true GPX has an 8,000rpm redline (as opposed to 7,500 for the GR). If you take one out on a test drive, you will know you've got a GPX when you hit about 5,000rpm as there is a very distinct change in engine sound when the MIVEC kicks in. A very sweeeet sound :D . Add a pod and 2 1/4 exhaust and the sound is porn! :D :D :D :D

Allright, thanks alot FTO Girl. 15,000 is about the price i seem to be getting looking at 93/94 Supras and Evo 3's and 4's, i spose i better get a job thou heh, and a lisence lol (should be taking my learners next week if i can get off my ass). What year was the FTO you sold? Did you have a body kit on it, if so, around how much did it cost?

Spec2 Girl
04-07-2002, 03:38 PM
Mine was a 1995 and it was in mint condition. It didn’t have any bodykit, but did have small side skirts (already on the car when I bought it). It also had a 2 ¼” exhaust, Trust Airinx pod filter, front strut bar, CD player, alarm, Momo wheel and Toyo T1 tyres. Just have a look around and make sure that if you want a GPX, make sure it has the MIVEC as we had a real hard time trying to find a genuine GPX (lots of GRs badged as GPXs  ). Also if you can buy one privately it will be much cheaper. FTOs are still quite expensive at dealers (around $19,000).

Good luck! :)

Sounds like a pretty mean ride :p I've actualy been looking at MKiv Supras the most seriously, and i think i found a pretty mean paintjob for one if i get one http://www.ratemyride.com/profile.php?uid=662

Supras are really nice cars. I was thinking about a TT one at one stage, but decided against it.

I really do miss my FTO, it was an awesome car and went like stink too.

and I can't see any pic under your sig :p

Does anyone know if the FTO eva came out in a Turbo.. i know in Australia the fastest is the GPX 2L V6, but i was wonderin if in japan or where eva it is from they brought out a Turbo i could import? i dont wanna put an aftermarket one in my current one coz i had problems with the last car i put an aftermarket turbo in! it shat its self!

if there isnt im happy with the V6 ... Go the FTO i love the car!

94mr2turbo
06-10-2003, 08:40 AM
Sorry dude, the FTO NEVER came out with a turbo. Try going the all motor route with the 6A12 motor, it'll sure sound awesome. I love the way my GPX sounds with just an exhaust and K&N airfilter. If you really want a turbo, get the twin turbo motor from a Galant and swap it into the FTO.
