Hey
I own a 1994 R33 GTS-t skyline, After instaling the following mod's.

Front mount intercooler
boost controller
turbo timer
air pod

I increast the boost pressure to 14 psi. Now when ever i floor the car at 5000 rpm it back fires and spluters. i have never had these problems before can any one help. I also loose power and takes a while to redline :banghead:

Turn the boost back to 12 PSI and see what it does. Many people have had trouble with such boost and need o tune the car differently. I will check up on moredetials for you but let me know if this fixes it.

Mick.

Thanx for ur advice, I have already tried turning the boost down but this problem occours all the time no matter what psi ect. It is a common problem among r33 gts-t but no one seems to have a definate answer

fuel controller

wouldn't it be that the turbo is ingesting more air via the mods you have done and that the ECU is putting too much fuel in for the appropriate level of air taken in?

The problem is even when the boost is wond down to factory standard the back firing still occours. so i dont think it is a fueling problem or else it would stop when normal boost levals are used.

yea but he has a new air intake too. Either way it'll usually mean too much unburnt fuel. Checked the spark plugs?

My nissan R32 backfires and has a huge fuel consumption problem, consumes too much, what might the problem be? Could it be the spark-plugs that need replacement??

Also, i require a full body without chassis for replacement( major body damage during accident) R32 (24 valve ,Single turbo unit-1989 4-door)

Hey
Your prob could be caused by a number of things. Book it in and get a dyno tune. They will be able to find and fix ur problem. As for the Body try ur local import shop????

I just bought a R33 couple of days ago, and the only modifaction that was done to it was done in japan, they put a 3" all the through from the cat.

after the turbo spools , i go to change gears and it back fires, it backfires at 3000rpm.. so i'm guessing that its just standard.....

I'm guessing, that when the turbo spools up, there is alot of air getting into the piston chamber, there is adequate fuel. But If all the fuel isnt burnt within 1 piston cycle, then the unburnt fuel would be carried into the next cycle, and with the extra fuel, mixed with the air, there would be a backfire, because of the Air/Fuel ratio. Ive seen this problem with many a import, but mainly it is the higher octance fuel in Japan which has the problem, not so much in Australia. Perhaps take it to a person who knows alot about Skylines. I could give you some number around Sydney area if you wanted.
