996 Twin Turbo X50 Aftermarket partsSillent Killer 10-25-2003, 03:24 PM I was wondering what good short shift kits are available for the 2002 911 Turbo? Someone on another person posted one a while back that he found for $1,500 but I can't find the post again. Also i want to know any ways of making the exhaust louder? LjasonL 10-28-2003, 02:40 AM Jesus Christ  I think I'm gonna get into the Porsche parts business. Any business that's less me charge more than 10 times what a part is normally worth and 20 times what it cost me to make is A-Okay with me :lol2: PUBLIUS 01-22-2004, 11:26 PM Okay, I just posted a very similar post but this topic begs the question: WHY IN THE NAME OF GOD WOULD YOU WANT TO MODIFY A 996 X50 TURBO? Forget what the factory claims, they are always very conservative. Indepenent tests have shown the X50 to turn in 0-60 times in the 3.5 - 3.7 range and the top speed is in excess of 190. Do you honestly think that a.) you know better than the factory and b.) you can make this car perform appreciably better. If you answered yes to either, I would really like to know where you got your degree in engineering. Im sorry if this seems rude, but leave the modding to ricers. Porsches don't need to be modified. Even a base, no option Boxster is going to be faster than 95% of the cars out there and an X50 Turbo is faster than about 99.99% of all models out there... moslerporschefreak 01-25-2004, 02:05 PM While I don't necessarily agree that no modifications should ever be made (just please never add NOS, that would be a crime), I do wonder (again, not trying to be rude) why the shifter needs to be replaced. From what i've heard, the Porsche gearbox used on the Turbo is one of the best. AMG ETR 03-02-2004, 09:25 PM I deff. don't agree with the modding statement, but its all good, you are entitled to your opinion :). As for a short shift, check out our webiste www.fvd-usa.com we offer a SSK with a 33% reduction and it runs between $250 and $300 (I have to double check). For exhaust, we do a sport exhaust and sport cats (either 200cell, 100cell or cat bypasses). Here is a video of my car with the cat bypass exhaust: www.kozmanautos.com/fvdexhaust.wmv Hope this helps, feel free to give me a call if ya need somthing. Also check out www.rennlist.com and www.6speedonline.com, both very modified Porsche forums... Evan vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
