1.8L turbo VS. 5.0Lchevyfan305 10-24-2003, 09:15 AM i know i said i was putting my 305 in my 1500, but i got a good deal on an s-10, so thats where its going. my question is i know sumone who has a 1.8L turbo integra, and he says he will be able to beat me with my 305 in that s-10. i don tknow the specs on eaither car, but my 5.0 will have a quadrajet 4-barrel carb, instead of injectors. TatII 10-24-2003, 10:28 AM a 1.8 turbo integra done right will be a 13 second car. if you think a 305 and a s10 will bring you to the 13's then you two would be tied. the problem with a turbo integra is that it will spin its tires all thru first gear and most of second gear, then chirp goin to 3rd. FWD making that kind of power has a very hard time putting it down to the ground. but even so, my friend with a turbo non v-tec 1.8L integra is able to be a 350Z, and a few 300ZX twin turbos, a modded WRX, and a slightly modded SR20DET swaped 240sx, and a modded first gen eagle talon TSi. i know you od'nt know much about imports but those cars that he have beaten are all run atleast a 14.0 in the 1/4 chevyfan305 10-24-2003, 12:51 PM all i kno is that the 305 im putting in my truck was out of a 1500, and it ran high 14's in that, so i figured with the weight difference it will be quick in my s-10. as long as i can keep the tires from spinning....... TatII 10-24-2003, 02:17 PM well the way i would predict hte race would end up is that your goin to take him off the line by a good amount. and hes goin to catch up hard. as long as you get a good enough of a lead, he wont' catch you at the end of hte 1/4mile if you guys were goin all out like goin past 130. he would catch you and pass you at like 90ish. fatninja19 10-24-2003, 04:47 PM In order to recieve a more definite answer, you would be required to give more detailed information. That 1.8L turbo Integra can be in a vast range of 1/4 mile times... But the Teg most likely won't be slower than a 14.0 sec car... That 305 you're putting in the s-10 better be modded... And you'll probaly have some traction issues as well.. unless you load up the bed of the truck with some fat kids or something.. TatII 10-24-2003, 11:29 PM hahaah fat kids like fat ninja. but the ironic thing is, i heard from matt that your actually skinny as hell. so thats weird. fatninja19 10-25-2003, 02:12 AM hahaha.... I'm like 5'9 and currently around 155lbs.. TatII 10-25-2003, 12:12 PM oooh your not that skinny. i'm 5'8 and weight 140lb. beat that!! anyways TV told me that you were skinner then even him, and hes over 6ft and he only weights like 150 HiFlow5 0 10-25-2003, 12:39 PM oooh your not that skinny. i'm 5'8 and weight 140lb. beat that!! anyways TV told me that you were skinner then even him, and hes over 6ft and he only weights like 150 You guys all all little chumps! LOL 6' 1", 210 lbs here. TatII 10-25-2003, 01:40 PM well me and fatninja are just little chinamen. and TV i dunno why hes soo skinny. but theres one thing we got over you. power to weight ratio when he race. so HA! Cl0ak 10-25-2003, 04:04 PM 6'0, 230, owned. :loser: -The Stig- 10-26-2003, 01:28 AM 5'8'' 120lbs Yeah, I did some internal modifications... Carbon Fiber bones... higher motaboilism rate so I burn off the fat easy... oh yeah, I'm a racing machine. I'm JDM. GTStang 10-26-2003, 02:00 AM 6'2" 240lbs I made sure my car had a ton of Torque so my Fat Ass wouldn't slow us down too much. :banghead: HiFlow5 0 10-26-2003, 02:26 AM 6'2" 240lbs I made sure my car had a ton of Torque so my Fat Ass wouldn't slow us down too much. :banghead: Dude seriously, you need to cut down on the McDonalds! You might lose about 40 pounds on your car if you clean out the wrappers from the back seat. LOL jk'ing man. -The Stig- 10-26-2003, 03:00 AM Dude seriously, you need to cut down on the McDonalds! You might lose about 40 pounds on your car if you clean out the wrappers from the back seat. LOL jk'ing man. If he had a LS1 it wouldn't matter. Gosh, that's the best run on joke ever... KrNxRaCer00 10-26-2003, 06:05 AM 5'8'' 120lbs Yeah, I did some internal modifications... Carbon Fiber bones... higher motaboilism rate so I burn off the fat easy... oh yeah, I'm a racing machine. I'm JDM. hahhaha... the torque is going to break u...j/k 5'9 175...im no little chinaman. me be strong korean... (if there is such a thing...) btw, i love it how the topics go so far off topic so quickly... ok, on topic, is the teg a ls? cuz if so, the others were correct, boosting around 10-12 psi, its going to be in the high 13's. if its a gsr, running around 6-7 psi (assuming stock internals), its more like mid 13's... mr2mitch 10-26-2003, 12:29 PM like they said it depends on the integ. I have a boy that has a integ type r with a T3/T4 running 4 1/2 psi and put down 255whp and ran a 13.4 with street tires keep that in mind. I also have a friend with an LS-VTEC in an si coupe that ran a 12.4 with only 9psi on the same turbo lol.later mitch civicHBsi91 10-26-2003, 01:14 PM 6'0" 235 53ft lbs tq 50hp 5 sec or less in the 40 yard dash :naughty: anyways, it depends on what kit and how tuned the integra is, he could be using a greddy kit....or like a rev hard or drag kit i know a boy who has a turbo gsr and he runs mid to low 13's with a slipping clutch and street tires after spin in 1st gear it deff took off like a bat out of hell Cbass 10-26-2003, 07:40 PM All of this talk and no one seems read that one little tidbit... all i kno is that the 305 im putting in my truck was out of a 1500, and it ran high 14's in that A Chevy 1500, even a shortbox, weighs well over 4000lbs. S10s weigh between 2600-3600lbs, depending on the model. The '90-93 shortbox weighs around 2630, and the latest 4x4s weigh around 3600lbs. If it can put a 4500lb CK 1500 into the 14s, I bet it could put a 2700lb S10 into the low 13s at the slowest. Please, no ricer math here, we're talking basic power to weight. That 305 would have to be making better than 300hp to push a CK that fast. GTStang 10-26-2003, 10:07 PM Dude seriously, you need to cut down on the McDonalds! You might lose about 40 pounds on your car if you clean out the wrappers from the back seat. LOL jk'ing man. No MacDonald's wrapper but if ever clean my interior out I prob would drop 40lbs from all the trash in it. Redneck it just doesn't seem to get old does it? :grinno: Cbass 10-26-2003, 11:28 PM Ah, but you forget there are two engines that can beat the LS1... The LS6, and arguably the best smallblock ever to come out of detroit, the LT5... :naughty: -The Stig- 10-26-2003, 11:53 PM Ah, but you forget there are two engines that can beat the LS1... That's a easy mid 17 second truck stock... Please, Do tell. fatninja19 10-27-2003, 11:14 AM And is there any specific info at all on the integra? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
