02 vx 03 Xterra regarding lifting?tkedge1 10-22-2003, 06:35 PM I am currently looking at purchasing an Xterra... I am wanting to go 32" tires and a small lift ( 2.5-3" ) In regards to lifting is there any differences between the year models? Also if you have this setup could you share what your kit is? any wheel issues such as backspacing and etc? OffroadX 10-22-2003, 09:02 PM No difference at all between 02 and 03. No lift needed to fit 32" tires either. Wheels: Stick with factory wheels if at all possible, either what it came with, or step down to a smaller stock size from a lesser trim or earlier year. Get Bilsteins to fill it out. gizmosX 12-09-2003, 03:53 PM Quick Question for my first post. Are there other veicles besides the Frontier that a add a leaf can be used on my Xterra? I'm wondering because there are many add a leaf's on e-bay super cheap, just not specifically for the X. Sorry for the dumb question :P hobbes69 12-12-2003, 09:05 AM As far as I know that's a no-go because the Frontier 4x4 has a spring over rear axle while the Xterra is spring under, so it is unlikely that the lifts would be compatible. Richard Schludwiller 12-12-2003, 06:37 PM I'm thinking he means are there other aal's that can be used besides ones made for the Xterra. I don't think so, but well....something could possibly fit Early on we were using the Rancho AAL which wasn't necessarily made for the Xterra but worked with the leafs already there. In the end many people had their leaf springs bending at the point where the Rancho one is. I wouldn't want to risk using something on Ebay that isn't made with our truck in mind. My personal opinion is the SLR AAL is the best option out there, designed for the Xterra and increases the performance of the weak stock leafs already there. The only thing that would be better is the 10-leaf spring pack that I'm using now. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
