91 Integra Engine Swapbov300zx 10-22-2003, 05:23 PM I am looking for an engine to drop into my 1991 Integra. I know the B16A3 will fit but I wanted to put a GSR or Type R into it. Has anyone completed this swap or know which engines will fit? Also will a B18C trany mate with a B18B? If it does will I need a new ECU along with the trany? Mendari 10-22-2003, 05:38 PM How about rebuilding your current engine to handle forced induction or higher compression? It will cost less than other options. bov300zx 10-22-2003, 05:53 PM Ive considered this but I have an auto, non vtec, and if I get a new trany, why not a whole new engine? Do you have any idea about the new ECU with a new trany? If I do need a new one can I send my current to get reprogrammed or replace it with a vtec chip? whtteg 10-23-2003, 12:36 AM You only need a vtec ecu if you have a vtec motor or LS/VTEC setup. But the biggest thing to take in mind is that you have a cable tranny in the car now and it will be expensive to convert it to hydro. So look for a motor that has a cable tranny, also forgot to mention this in the PM but you could also use the B17A tranny. And yes you can change the ecu internally to manual but if you have no experience soldering on a circuit board then I suggest not doing it, just buy a OBDO 5 speed LS ecu. bov300zx 10-23-2003, 12:59 AM I'm not sure if you got this in the PM whtteg... I have an auto slush box. I'm gonna need everything including. I'm wantinh the GSR tranny because i heard it is geared for better acceleration than the standard LS new_teg91 12-13-2004, 11:20 PM can a B18C1 fit in my 91 teg Greenblurr93 12-13-2004, 11:22 PM anything can fit in anything with the proper mods and money... whtteg 12-13-2004, 11:24 PM Please read the posting guidelines at the top of the Integra forum.
