I have a 93 GSR motor. Bad journal on crank. I am not interested in grounding it down and getting new bearings. What possibilties are there for this block?. I want to use the stock B17 rods (137mm) with CTR pistons, ITR cams. Which crank can i use in its place? What if I put a b16 (99-00) crank in it? Will the R/S ratio be too low>> ? Or should I just find a b17 crank, which is almost impossible. I cant find any answers for my dilemma. please help. b18 crank?? :nono:

if you get a B16 crank, I think your sompression would be low cuz the piston wouldnt get very close to the head naymore, and a B18 crank youd probably hit the head. cant remember what the strokes are, but I am pretty sure the B16 has a shorter stroke and the B18 has a longer stroke. because ive heard of a B17 crank in a B18 and custom rods to get a nice r/s ratio, so the B17a crank would have to lower the stroke, and the long rods get the piston back up to the head.

dont take my word for it though.

looked on thepartstrader for the crank, and why not have it resurfaced or whatever they call it and get an oversized bearing to fit the new journal size, if its impossible to find a replacement. just plastiguage to see if you fgot the right clearance before you put her all back together and run her
