750 gearbox?!Steve Eastick 10-21-2003, 09:13 AM Hi All. Can any one help? Did BMW build many 750's with a manual gearbox option? If yes how readilly available are they and does anyone have one in there spare room?!!!!! I will also need a clutch and flywheel as well as slave cylinder etc. Hoping. Steve TEXAS-HOTROD 11-01-2003, 08:54 PM I have wondered the same thing, but gave up looking for one. I am converting a Muncie 4-speed for my V-12 project. If you have any luck, let me know. ---TEX--- Steve Eastick 11-03-2003, 03:57 AM I have wondered the same thing, but gave up looking for one. I am converting a Muncie 4-speed for my V-12 project. Steve Marcus_uk 11-08-2003, 10:50 AM The 850 came with a 6 speed manual option, but if your after one it will probobly cost you a packet! Marcus TEXAS-HOTROD 11-08-2003, 01:19 PM Something that is BMW, and having to do with a new model never goes along with being inexpensive. That is why I opted to go with the Muncie. I already had most of the parts on hand, so the only drawback is finding time to machine a couple of adapter plates. The Muncie is simplistic in design and the way the gears are laid out, it is very efficient. That would transfer more power to the wheels. It is light weight too. I, for one am interested in what you are proposing.Good luck. Matt, 750il. TEXAS-HOTROD 11-11-2003, 07:39 PM As of this week, I have the trans mounted to the engine but it will be a long time until I can actually drive the thing. I am in the process of cleaning out a bare shell. Suspension will have to be totally upgraded too. I am in no rush, but plans are to have it on the streets in about 2yrs. I am taking pics of everything and so far have a decent library full. The trans is good for 450+ h.p. but I think the weak link will be the clutch. I'll have to do my own r.&d. to see what works and what breaks. Send me your e-mail and I'll shoot you some pics. Thanks for the reply, ---TEX--- vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
