No Idle but still runs and drivesXtacY 10-19-2003, 12:27 PM Okay, I have just aquired a 1986 F-150 Extended cab. It has an early model ford 302 EFI in it. The **** thing does not idle at all, and it drives me insane. Someone told me it might be the Fuel Filter and then someone told me to check the throttle position sensor. Any Ideas? ultraspaceman 10-29-2003, 02:52 PM No idle is tough to diagnose sometimes. Check the TPS and replace the fuel filter. Chances are the previous owner(s) never have??? Might want to invest in Chiltons or Haynes manual if you plan on doing any work of your own. Another thing to check is the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve. ervinj 11-09-2003, 12:39 AM The IAC and fuel filter are the right places to start but, don't forget to have the fuel rail system flushed if the others don't take care of the problem. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
