10-15-2003, 05:23 PM
thanks... all I have done to change the look since I bought it is throw on those wheels I had left from the Miata I used to drive and I just got the windows tinted about a week ago

long range plans:

throw in a tubo LS by the end of this coming summer

i like it, looks good except the rims, i really hate white rims, I especially don't like Motegi's. Those MR7's weight like 24.5 lbs a piece.......just my opinion though. Definetely doesn't look like a 2k car though

Looks nice and clean, the only thing I'd do is get rid of the wheel well gap. Hell yeah throw in the turbo b18b and leave the rest of the exterior alone.

Miataracer
10-15-2003, 07:07 PM
right now the motegi's are all I have to work with besides the steelies... I am thinking about at least stripping them and having them re-powder coated in satin black this winter, and yes... I need to lower it but I want to go about it in the right way so until I can afford shocks, springs, etc. it will probably just ride as is...

I like it alot...for some reason the older civics look better in red then the newer ones (in my opinion)

not bad for a 2g car, but i do have to say that i dont like them rims, to many people have them.

Miataracer
10-16-2003, 11:17 AM
I hear ya, I hear ya... heavy as hell, everyone has them... in fact, quite possibly the most horrible eclipse I have ever seen has the exact same ones... size and everything. reason enough to get rid of them right there

should have taken a picture of it with my dad's Konig Rhythms on it!!! now these wheels I love

Red or black eg's are the best looking Civics ever made, and damn that interior looks nice with that silver touch too. Bronze or black rims look really nice with red imo. Keep us update on the engine build.. $2k - def. worth it!

It's not an eg though (92-95)
Red ek's are badass too. I don't like any other cars in red besides Civics, except maybe lambos and whatever..

esp
10-16-2003, 12:15 PM
yea no 92-95 here, but o well, IMO the milano red is one of the best red's out there, damn honda for switching to ralle red in 2001. booo honda

Yeah, but they're 01's... the 04's look really good in person, but still just some little family car.

im just not a fan of the 7th gens period, its just something about them that i dont like, the styling is off, hmm wonder what honda will do next? could there be a end to the civic sometime???? 8th gen sounds really funny, just thought i would metion that

with how popular civics have been and still are i would have to think it would be a very unwise choice to end the line...

thanks for the comments on my car guys!

No problem man.
I didn't know Miatas had 4-lug rims, thought they were 5. Even Cavaliers have 5..

Miataracer
10-16-2003, 01:52 PM
nope... same bolt pattern between civics and hondas... same lugs too, makes for an easy switch back and fourth :naughty:

is worth more than 2Gs . is a D16, clean, family car or performance.
One think I really like it the paint that is used on the dash/ac vent area and on the tweeters. What kind of paint and stuff is that???

Miataracer
10-16-2003, 04:59 PM
its just silver spray paint... I don't remember what the brand was but I took all the pieces off and roughed them up very lightly then cleaned them with dawn soap first then wiped them down with alcohol to make sure the surfaces were clean after that i just put on light coat after light coat until they looked decent

it was really pretty easy

Honestly, I was thinking, " DAMN!!! That's a nice car. But, That's MY car back in it's Ricer days ". The ONLY reason I say ricer is because it was the closest I ever got to being one. Anyways, here it is.........

How did u do the interior colors?

Ricochet
10-17-2003, 07:00 PM
sandpaper/primer/paint/clearcoat... the colors were a little ricey imo so I redid it all in black. Near-stock looking, but a lot nicer.

Ricochet, I really like what you did to the back seat. You still got the measurements?

Ricochet
10-17-2003, 10:23 PM
I sort of ghettofitted it.. I laid some kind of insulation/styrofoam in there (huge sheet for like $3) and cut it up through guesswork. Then I laid it on top of two pieces of wood.. well here are some old pics of what I did. Miataracer, don't mean to threadjack... you've already got 30-some replies anyways though :)

I bolted the front sheet of wood to those swivling seat things, so I can lift the whole thing up like a chest or something. Made for an easy fuel pump install. (Those wooden 2x2's holding it up were there for pic purposes only)

These pics of my friend's car were taken more than a year ago when he had n2o on an EX engine. Now he has turbo/n2o on it and his best time is 13.8 in the 1/4. His hatch setup sort of inspired mine.
