did anyone else here that gm and honda are selling like all these transmissions and engines and stuff to echother like the new saturn vue's will have a honda engine and gm will be sending the transmissions and engines and stuff :feedback:

i saw it on motor trend and a few other car newspapers a little while ago that gm is buying 90,000 motors for honda/acura and gm is shipping over alot of trans' and engines and there gonna be like business partners now but they have not traded any equity or anything

hey i think a NSX with a chevy v8 or something would be pretty cool, get a little more power in those NSX and it would be up there with that stupid ford gt and stuff like that even though it already relly relly fast :sunglasse :feedback:

Happens all the time, but last i knew, GM was in a deal with Toyota, not Honda. I mean the Pontiac Vibe IS a Toyota Matrix, its the same damn car. Chevy Prizms have also been using Corolla engines since the mid 90's i believe. Same with Chrysler/Mitsubishi and Ford/Mazda.

what are they doing:

honda 260 hp v6 (with its tranny and all other goodies) = the motor in the new red line vue

they are for sale now- and yup the red line has the option of fwd and awd with the v6 (correct if im wrong) however all are auto

and yes even though its pretty much an suv it still can kick most stock cars asses in the 1/4

my bro works at saturn and he says the sales guys all tell the customers that the engine is made by honda- its a good selling point go figure
ohh yea and its funny cus the saturn dealership gets the oil filters for the v6 in a honda box but with saturn wrapping

yea i wouldnt doubt it... but i really hate it when people bag on honda i mean shit they make 240 hp v6s and i really think they need a v8 for that pilot.... Alot of car company barely 200 hp v6s that only get like 16mpg yet H can make a 200hp 4cyl that gets almost 25mpg... honda has really great engineering but alot of people dont look pass the civic which is a gem its self. :2cents:

i test drove one, they are fast for an suv and they get good mpg but hell an nsx with a v8 especialy a small block, ohhhh that would just be wow! :22yikes:

heard rumors bout this too...im intrigued to see how it turns out.

I'm just saying gm aren't really reliable cause lots of my friend and family have them and theres always something wrong with them friends 01 Z24 already had to replace a piston and some other stuff cause he drive hard big deal my 90 accord is driven hard haven't replaced anything so from all the problems I see or here about I can say there not all that reliable

i was serious but yeah i think this is a good thing for both companies and i hope their relationship grows stronger.

I guess well just have to wait and see how everything goes maybe there it will be the perfect car, but on thing thats good its sooo easy to get performance parts for hondas they'll be able to boost it up even more in no time

infact, i was surprised to find out that GM (harrison) sells transmissions to rolls royce, and for high end BMW's

saturns. are basically a result of the combined effort of toyota n GM. they are very diff from the traditional GM car coz of the manufacturing techniques. infact, saturn assembly lines look very diff from those of GM
