Update on Idle Problem

So I took the car into a mechanic yesterday, that was referred by a coworker. I called today at 11:30 to check up on it.

"Oh yea.. the neon.. I couldn't get it to act up after driving it for a while, so I think I'm going to bail on this one."

He then suggested that I wait until it stalls and WON'T restart, then have it towed somewhere to get looked at.

Then he says "Yanno, I don't like to insult peoples' cars, but Neons have alot of problems! I feel bad for the dealers that work on them!"

So now I'm back where I started!

Did you check the idle valve?

I know nothing about cars at all. I can't check anything myself. As far as I know, he just drove it around, and gave up when it ran ok.
