Oil Pressure alarm above 2000 rpm's

I changed out the instrument panel but the problem persists. As soon as the rpm's go above 2000 the buzzer inside the instrument panel and the idiot light for the oil pressure go off. As soon as the rpm's drop back below 2000 the light goes out the buzzer stops. If I smack my hand on top of the dash it will stop for a few seconds or minutes and then start back up again. Anyone have any idea on this one?

Possibly related issues: I also have to hold the load reduction relay closed so that the fuel pump will continue to run while starting. My horn doesn't honk but the horn relay does click with the horn button is pressed.

It's time to junk it and ride a bike. :icon16:

This is a fairly common problem. The small L-shaped board inside the speedo assembly goes bad. Check with the dealership and tell them you need the oil pressure warning board and they will hook you up. The last one I bought was around $45.00 and it took care of the problem. My unit acted up when it got humid outside.
