I recently bought the VW 6 cd changer and am trying to install it. I was told it was a piece of cake but the radio won't recognize the changer. Is there something I have to do in order to get the radio to "see" the changer? There doesn't seem to be much information out there regarding this topic.

I went through this last year with my jetta. You can install the cd changer on your own (like I did), but you still need to bring it to the dealership for them to re-program the receiver. It only takes about 5 minutes for them to do. They hook the receiver up to their computer and tell it that it is a Am/FM/cassette/cd receiver. They will probably charge you an hour of labor too.
