Could anyone tell me in what price class kevlar or carbon wheels would be? And does anyone know any sites of manufacturers of kevlar or carbon wheels?

My father and I are researching the possiblity of manufactering them ourselves for commercial use, but we want to know if there's a demand for such (high price range) wheels. We also want to know what other companies are charging for such wheels, as to determine a competitive price.

If I could get plastic wheels I would.

There are carbon fiber wheels made for motorcycles, but none yet that I know of for automobiles.

I don't know anout everybody else but I really want some carbon fiber wheels, the proformance abventage is incrediable from what I have heard. A smoother ride because of less unsprung mass, and faster accelaration due to less resipracating mass.

I think the rule is that for every pound dropped from unsprung rotation weight is about 4 pounds dropped from the rest of the car.

30lb (normal wheel) - 8lbs = 22 lbs * 4 = 88lbs * 4 wheels = 352lbs!!!

Damn that's like adding 30-35 hp for the average car. If you are in the market for HRE wheels or something similiarly expensive it might be worth the extra cost to save all that weight.

Too bad they aren't spinners (joke). I generally think carbon fiber looks a little tacky (on street cars) but those look awesome.
