Hi, I have a 2001 accord LX 4cyl. and im just beginning to fix it up, so far i have aem cai, d/c ceramic 4-2-1 sport headers, and an apexi N-1 exhaust system! But the problem is I dont know what else i should get that could help me increase my performance w/o having to add fuel injection system or ecu chip or any of the turbo stuff!!my goal is to reach 200!!your advice is much needed!!thx alot

without ripping your engine apart and totally rebuilding it, or without nitrous....you won't be seeing 200hp anytime soon. I forgot what the 01 power rating for the 4 cyl is, but I belive it was like 150ish.......no amount of bolt ons, or even minor head work is going to get you up to 200hp at the crank......nitrous is about the only way, but I think you meant to rule that out already.

i'd swap in an h22. that'll put you at 200hp and u don't need a turbo!

I'd say go with an adjustable cam gear and get a port polish, that might get you up there.

what do you mean by polish port?

what do you mean by polish port?

Polish or smooth the inside walls of the intake manifold; or machine the inside of the cylinder head for smoother intake and exhaust port chambers.

The mods that you have done just squeeze out a little better performance hp-wise, almost zero torque-wise. The increase you desire is quite drastic for any car and, in your case, can only be achieved by 1. increased engine displacement, 2. nitrous oxide, 3. turbo-charger (I don't know of any company that makes a super-charger for the Accords).

so would the adjustable cam gears increase my car performance?

As long as you know what your doing when you adjust the valve timing. The disadvantage of messing with valve timing is that you can make the car have a rough idle.

If you don't know much about valves, camshafts, and timing I suggest reading this: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/camshaft.htm

as stated before, not possible with boltons, even all of them..... nitrous, turbo, supercharger....that's the only way unless you want to open up the motor. Even a built head will not get you up to 200hp.....close, but not quite, and besides, you'd kill your drivability trying (low end would blow)
