Testors Contour Putty

the other day, my mom accidently bought me some Testors Contour Putty when i told her i needed some rubber cement. has anyone ever used this before? it doesnt melt plastic like the tamiya kind but i dont know if this putty is epoxy or not.

That stuff sucks in my opinion.
I use Evercoat MetalWorks w/ cream hardener (catalyst)
You get it from body shops. That stuff is used to do real body work on 1:1 cars.

Testor putty works just fine. The solvent is not as strong as Tamiya, so it doesn't blend as well, but still good for gap filling.

It's pretty much worthless. Testors Contour Putty for Plastic Models is solvent based (though not as strong a solvent as other putties), yet its adhesion (and drying time) leaves much to be desired, as well as the stuff being way too porous. If you don't seal it somehow, you'll see that porous-ness in the paint job. Thats IF the joint doesn't crack on you from mild handling (something Testors putty is notorious for doing.)
You're better off using a quality solvent based putty or a good polyester putty. Testors markets a version of 3M's Acryl-Red in their Model Master line, and its not bad, or you can get 1 pound tubes of Acryl-Red at your local auto body supply. There's also Squadron Green and White putties from hobby shops - these work pretty well though the green putty is a bit thin and tyhe solvent has ruined mor ethnan one prize project of mine. The white putty seems a bit better, actually.
Polyester putties ("Bondo" and the like) can be better, depending on the quality of the filler material. Tamiya's Polyester Putty works well too. Mark Gustavson turned me on to Eurosoft (also available from auto body supplies) and that stuff just plain works great.

I use Testors COntour putty on my cars, for when i add different bumbers onto cars, an example would be the 300 zx im working on right now, im putting on a R32 GTR front. After i got the R32 bumber stuck to the 300 zx by using the putty, i used some Testors glue on the inside of the car. This will keep it from cracking when you sand. I used to use fiberglass resin instead of glue for this.
I can get some pictures later today when i get home from schol if any one really wants some
Id say that testors putty isnt that bad, its really good for shaving door handles, and little wholes etc...

Just to let people know I have used Bondo type brands (they suck too for fine work) from Wal-Mart they cannot compare to Evercoat products. They are the best. Just to make things clear Eurosoft is made by Evercoat. If you go to a body shop just ask them for the smallest size putty from Evercoat (you will still get a huge serving).
Product 100420 comes in a tube
From what I have seen hardener is hardener you can use the stuff from Wal-Mart for that.
