Rough Idle for my 1990 300zxg_funk3 10-02-2003, 02:04 PM I havent taken it to a mechanic yet, but I was curious if anyone else ever came accross this, or had any ideas? The car has about 70,000 miles, and runs really good at higher rpms but at idle it is rough, and taking off feels like it is missing til the rpms come up or the turbo comes on. Thanks for any info aimeensc 10-03-2003, 08:02 AM i'm having a similar problem with mine... I've put some fuel injector cleaner in my gas and it seems to have helped some so far :iceslolan my car's an 86' with 190,000 miles on it so i'm sure i'll need two bottles of the stuff :) 300zxtc 10-05-2003, 03:59 AM I havent taken it to a mechanic yet, but I was curious if anyone else ever came accross this, or had any ideas? Thanks for any info i own a 91 300zx tt has 101000ks and has a diffrent motor in it and yes it sounds exactly like my car as well it'll have a big flat then then the turbos hit in and then it can nearly send me sideways i love it but it's annoying every now and then as well it will idle very round from 500-1500 does it on and off every now and then and usually i think it's when it needs a service tell me what would u prefer a 300zx or a gtr 32 skyline they don't look nearly as good but they sure go i dunno weather to stick to mine and slowly do it up costing me heaps or just go bang for bucks and get gtr r32 "? CP Restorations 11-09-2003, 10:16 PM I have a 90 300z that had the same problem. I had a mechanic work with me to find out the problem. We changed plugs, ran injector thru it, and tested just about everything. What we found with mine was this, the oil pressure guage would drop to 0-10 psi when it was at idle, that is when it would run bad. I change the ooil pressure switch and it cured it. So if your oil pressure is low then you may wnat to change the switch. I bought mine from Nissan direct about $60. If you need a part number let me know. Good luck rizzspeed 11-27-2003, 07:59 PM Check the throttle position sensors. The connections might be corroded and not making good contact sending the ECU the wrong readings. You might also want to check over your vacuum lines for a possible vacuum leak. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
