Look up on Google and download the Windows Media Player 9, NIMO Codec, DivX Codec, and WinAmp2 (3 is a memory hog, and they really do mean it when they say "WinAmp 3, almost as new as 2" after NullSoft got taken over by AOL, they rushed the production and it is still in its beta stages) and you will never have another problem with any kind of video again, unless you dont have QuickTime either.
