TexasF355F1 10-01-2003, 07:47 PM I don't want to buy a convertible. Never liked em for some reason. Coupe: M3 Convertible: SL55 Sedan: M5, 745, 760, S-Class, I could go on and on Moppie 10-01-2003, 08:42 PM You need to ADD "hatch" to the list, as they are just as common. I have a coupe but have owned all 4 at some time or another. As a weekend car, or a performance car I would want either a coupe or a convertiable. No real reason, I just love the wind in my hair back to basics motoring a convertiable tends to offer, or the leen light weight design of most coupes, of if its a larger GT style, then easy open road driving. But as a daily driver its a real pain in the ass. A long front end is annoying to park, and there is no room in the back for passangers. A largish boot is the only good thing about it, but then thats not that common on most coupes. I would rather have a sedan, or even better a hatch, all the advantages of the coupe, with the interior room of a sedan (often more) and the advantages of a small car, i.e. easy parking, easy to get around in taffic, and being light weight generaly lots of fun to throw around. genjy 10-01-2003, 09:33 PM I would never buy a convertible sports car if there were a hardtop sedan or a coupe version of the same car. I feel a true performance car has to be hardtop for handling, rigidity, and safety reasons. For example, I would buy a M-Coupe over a M-Roadster, or a hardtop Mustang GT over a convertible one. I wish that hardtop Miata RS will come here to the US. That is one sexy car.
