:disappoin i have a 1986 300ZX 2+2 that i love...but it's driving me freaking crazy :screwy:

It all started a few months ago when water started pouring from underneath the pasenger side dash. First the silly mechanic told me that my t-tops were leaking, that i needed to seal them up permanatly :eek7:
i'm glad i didn't, cause that wasn't the problem. The casing around my heater core was busted....so we fixed that.

Now all the moisture killed my computer :banghead:
so i had another computer put in....and the car hasn't been right since.
Last week it wouldn't fully charge to max battery amps...later that day it just died on me after the amps slowly went down to nothing. They said my altanator was crap....so i got another one.

WELL NOW....the darn thing makes this awful thumping noise whenever i'm driving slow...like coming into a parking lot. It just keeps banging! Anyone know what this might be, before i take it BACK to the shop? :disappoin :disappoin :disappoin

does the banging occur in a turn? or just riding down the road? Where does it sound like its coming from

Sounds like it's coming from the front of the car...in the engine. Not when i turn. It will only start knocking if i'm going really slow or if i start to slow down....basically whenever i take my darn foot off the gas :disappoin As soon as i get going again...put my foot on the gas...it stops :banghead:

hey man i own a 1986 300zx and ive got the same problem, im pretty sure that its the u-joints but if it is your looking at a lot of money because the u-joints in our car arent replaceable you have to replace the entire driveshaft, heres a forum address that you should check out i belong to this the address is www.z31.com and my screen name is Dark_Knight so if you have any further problems post their.....
