Auto Couture JZS161ex-r 09-29-2003, 04:25 AM Here is my next project an Aoshima Luxy series Aristo. The kit is pretty simple. The suspension is all snap together. Not like the other Aoshima VIP series cars with the "low down" spring suspension which needs a screwdriver to lower the suspension. Not sure what color i'm going to paint it yet. Either silver, or a midnight blue. What do you folks think? http://files.automotiveforums.com/img/912aristo.JPG EMAXX 09-29-2003, 09:08 AM Looks good. I think a midnight blue would look awesome on that car. Keep us posted. malsheem 09-29-2003, 11:43 AM Midnight blue would be my choice. 515 09-29-2003, 01:24 PM VIP car... looking nice there.... what wheel does come with?? can u post the pic of the wheel ex-r 09-29-2003, 05:25 PM what wheel does come with?? can u post the pic of the wheel Thanks, I guess the blue it is. I'll try and get a picture of the wheel this evening. Sorry I am not sure of the name of the wheels. I only seen them on this kit and the Luxy Auto Couture Celsior. They are big. Looks like a 20" wheel. Hopefully they release the wheels only. Gotta get me more of these. ;) RyanGiorgio 09-29-2003, 05:31 PM Looks pretty sick. I thought it was an R/C car at first with those huge rims. ex-r 09-30-2003, 04:53 AM OK. Here are 2 pics showing the size of the wheels. I guess they weren't 20" wheels. they just look like they were. When put side by side, they are same as the 19" VIP wheels. The ones I measured with are the Fabulous Profound 19" VIP wheels. 515 09-30-2003, 06:51 AM hmmm... that wheel is sick... reaalllyy nice.... look like "Garson" wheel gonna get the kit... jeffsgotaciv98 09-30-2003, 10:50 AM blue will look sweet...keep us updated with this kewl ride. ex-r 10-04-2003, 06:48 AM Hi all. I got through painting the body. Still have to polish it out. I used automotive paints for this one. The color is Cortez blue by House of Kolor. http://files.automotiveforums.com/img/605aristo2.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/img/527aristo3.JPG 515 10-04-2003, 09:41 AM hey.. that's neat and shiny man.. color look really stunning.. :sunglasse good job.. :bigthumb: slk320 10-04-2003, 10:42 AM Beautiful color and very smooth finish! Here are pics of the door panels, and dash. http://files.automotiveforums.com/img/157aristo4.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/img/780aristo5.JPG deedlit 10-09-2003, 06:09 AM Wowww, very clean work so far. Your colour choice is awesome. It will be a stuner when finished. xav EMAXX 10-09-2003, 09:09 AM That paint and the interior look awesome. I love that blue!!! Keep us posted. I can't wait to see this car done. ex-r 11-18-2003, 03:35 AM I finally have a small update. I was kinda depressed about how the finish came out. I was going to dip it in brake fluid, then I decided to try polishing out the clear. I have never done a process like it before. I bought a polishing kit made by Alclad. It is the same as the Model Master one. The only difference is there is one less rough sandpaper. The strips are a little smaller, and it does not come with the little bottle of polish. But it does come with a foam sanding block, and it is cheaper. :) Anyway here are some pictures of how it came out. A whole lot better, but still has the real fine scratches. I finished the polish with a coat of Novus 2. I did the tops and the right side. I still have to finish the left and the back side. Did you purchase your polishing kit within the island? ex-r 11-18-2003, 04:03 AM Fantastic work on the polishing! Did you purchase your polishing kit within the island? Thanks. I still have a long way to go. Yes I bought the kit from Hobby Company. When I bought it, the had 2 sets (about a month ago). A friend of mine that works there said that they don't usually sell. No one likes to buy them. Try giving them a call, they still might have them. It was on the back wall along with the Aoshima wheels. ;) tonioseven 11-18-2003, 10:38 AM Nice work!! :sunglasse ex-r 11-26-2003, 04:58 AM Here is a better picture of how the polishing came out. There still is a little here and there that has to be sanded again, but most of it is done. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/42491aristo8.JPG Here are a couple of shots of the mock up. The interior is almost done. Just have to finish the dash. :) http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/42491aristo6.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/42491aristo7.JPG vwman 11-26-2003, 09:35 AM Wow that is really nice car dude :smokin: ex-r 01-12-2004, 06:10 AM OK got a little more done. Doing the trim around the windows was a b_ _ _ _ . I might try painting it next time I build another Aristo, or Celsior. I also did the reflector for the lights, and I lined the jams (door, hood, trunk, etc.). Just have to finish the windows and glue the lights lenses on. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/500/42491aristo9.JPG chrismcgee 01-12-2004, 07:06 AM thats so cool, i hope to have my aristo turn up this week. should be cool. that paint is amazing. i love automotive paints. so much more polishable. 10/10 for the shine. are there any bits o should watch out for during the build? DJPaul 01-12-2004, 11:29 AM Amazing work!!! pettercardoso 01-12-2004, 12:17 PM You just gotta love those Aristos..:D Very nice, the shine is awsome. ex-r 01-12-2004, 03:40 PM Thanks for the comments guys. thats so cool, i hope to have my aristo turn up this week. should be cool. that paint is amazing. i love automotive paints. so much more polishable. 10/10 for the shine. are there any bits o should watch out for during the build? So true. I love using automotive paints. So much more colors to chose from, and a whole lot more durable. :) I tried to go back to sprays, but I couldn't get a nice finish. As far as the build, it is a pretty simple kit. If you are getting any of the LUXY cars. You can't really detail the the suspension since they move. There is no brake detail. Pretty much only the interior and the body. Oh and the exhaust. Please post pictures of your build when you start. We need more VIP cars here. ;) Hey Malsheem, did you ever finish your Celsior? tonioseven 01-12-2004, 03:47 PM Beautiful!! I might have to get one of those Luxy kits!!:) ex-r 06-21-2004, 05:21 AM Sorry to bring up an old thread. I am sorta redoing the interior. I am working on the new Aoshima JZS161 (check shop), and it comes with some Louis Vuitton decals (the traditional brown). So, instead of painting another interior the same tan, I decided to switch the interiors. This blue is now going to have a black/gray interior. I also added some Studio 27 CF to the center console, and the door inserts. I will be posting some progress on the new Aristo soon. Stay tuned. New black interior for the blue Aristo http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/500/42491interior3.JPG The redone interior with the LV decals. These were a pain in the a** to work with. I guess cause of license issues, they made the print in 2 different sections. One had the background with the L, and the other a clear decal with the V and diamonds. Looks damn good though. I just wish they were on a bigger sheet so we can do the outside. ;) I am almost done, just have to add the second layer to the door inserts, then flat coat the whole interior again. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/500/42491interior.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/500/42491interior2.JPG Orion37170 06-21-2004, 05:24 AM that interiour is nice indeed...looks good with that decals...but is the new one LHD? ex-r 06-21-2004, 02:12 PM Yeah the new interior is a LHD. No biggie. I can just leave off the rear emblems on the new one. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
