Why do you need a sports car for? Just saying, I had a 1999 Pontiac T/A WS6. Fun car, but costed way to much to own. That meaning insurance, service, and repairs. I would just reccomend a used Accord or Civic. Hell you could get a newer V6 accord coupe with decent milage for about the price you are asking. Trust me they are not really sporty but then they are no slouches. My .02

there are plenty of sports cars out there you can get for around $12K...Porsche 944Ts, 928s, older 911s, you could get a '77-93 vette for that, maybe a 300ZX or other Z car, any MG (they are a reliability nightmare, though)...there are tons, it just depends on what you are looking for and what your insurance/fuel budget is

Porshe's are too small (at least to my parents), the vette's have hella miles on them, and 300zx's are too expensive for a decent one. The fuel efficiency has to be at least decent, nothing terrible. Insurance isn't much of a problem, i got a quote for a firebird formula and a mustang GT and since one of my parent's will be down as the main driver and me as just a secondary driver, plus we have a lot of people insured on a few cars the rates aren't bad at all. RELIABILITY is the big thing, this car is going to be my car for a while, as long as i can keep it going (hopefully a while).

MAD PROPS AND CONGRATS ON THAT CAR ITS BEAUTIFUL, now that I know what it is :D

I've had my lisence for about a year, its not a huge amount of time, but its not like i just got it, and before my lisence i had my permit for 7 months. ANYWAYS, i haven't been driving it as much as i could be, just because if i drive a long time thinking about trying to get better i just end up sucking more and getting aggrivated. So i am just taking it on normal trips out on errands, and its working ok for me. As long as i can drive it ok by the 7th:). But now my problem is giving it too little gas starting out in first, i used to give it too much, now its a bit rocky with too little, but every few shifts i get the perfect shift where you don't feel a change at all, just smooth....i just gotta get more consistant.

Car = chick magnet, me driving it = double chick magnet....stalling out in front of a group of girls = bad:( so i hope i don't, lol

some tips I guess

Dont act to hardcore, dont have road rage, relax when you drive and dont be over confident.

learning stick is all natural, you will get better as you drive more. I sucked at stick when I first started, I got my license and drove around like crazy, now I can stick like a mutha. :smoka:

oh yeah and chicks dont pick up cars, you do

I get plenty of girls and I drive a Nissan Maxima. and these are hot chicks. I guess they know there is more room in the back seats of it then a 2 door car =)

-cy-
12-28-2001, 11:08 PM
Ya, i know i am supposed to get the chicks...just isn't working out that way for me;). I don't act hardcore, mostly because i know i'm not and i critisize a lot of people for acting that way. I don't road rage either, right now i am driving slower than the normal driver out of the road, which is mostly because i am not natural at stick yet. Every time i go out though i do feel a little more comfortable, i know its a just a matter of time.

The way i see it, absolutely nothing wrong with speeding if you use your head, cant explain how to do it exactly, but ive never had a ticket or an accident and i speed like crazy, ya just gotta be smart about it

awesome car though, and yeah, when i was first learning stick id always give too little gas startin off from 1st to 2nd, and sit there bouncin up and down

Bad experience tonight, my friend cant drive, he is one of those like ancy people who areant confident, the ones who are always asking people how to do stuff and shit. Guy is doing 120 on teh freeway and slams on his breaks for a car in front of him when he could go around and then re accelerates to teh next car, it was scary as shit......i would have been driving but I already had a suspended license :D

NismoDrifts
12-30-2001, 12:51 PM
HAAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAAH

im like that, asking if im doing stuff right, but its usually after the fact, and that doesnt usually help much :p

i wouldnt trust someone like that at 120!!!!!! whoa

-cy-
12-30-2001, 04:45 PM
LOL, i would have gone around the guy...but i wouldn't have been going 120 in the first place (i've only done 120 once).

JBL85
12-30-2001, 10:15 PM
I can drive good going fast and can feel any car good.....so I didnt trust him, but I was like wtf can I do, so we did like 50 miles in 50 minutes, that includes city driving, and me pissing on the side of teh freeway for 2 minutes =)

NismoDrifts
12-30-2001, 10:25 PM
50 miles in 50 minutes isnt fast..............lol its equivelant to 60mph.....errr....we get your point though :p and yeah, i dont like riding with other people, and i get really nitpicky about their driving

JBL85
12-30-2001, 11:34 PM
well average high way speed was about 50 because he wouold go 120 and slam on his brakes until we were at speed limit, he would go in and out of the carpool lane, hit 110 again and slam on his brakes....(seemed like a brake check, but it wasnt)

funny thing is I would have been yelling at him, but he was too busy concentrating (worst driver I ever been with)

BMW E30 M3 EVO (either 1, 2, or 3)
more entertaining than any of the others, a true racer. remember it was developed for the track, so its a pure sportscar

cheers

yeah those damn m3's handle so good they are fun to try and get to lose control....but being able to lose controlling flooring an American car can be fun too :D

crayzayjay
02-06-2002, 09:16 PM
wouldnt know. never driven an american car!

JBL85
02-06-2002, 09:29 PM
I raced a GT stang against the m3.....hard race.....takes some skill launching a car without traction control. M3 can drop a clutch from 5grand get a little squeal but the thing just usually grabs and takes off.

crayzayjay
02-07-2002, 08:52 AM
which M3 was it? E30, 36 or 46? US-spec E36 M3 are considerably underpowered compared to european models, especially the EVO. i assume you raced a US M3? and who won? :D

cheers
jay

JBL85

When I wasnt smoking the wheels across the intersection the GT stang was killing the U.S. M3 with 240HP and it was a 98 Model, so last generation M3

crayzayjay
02-09-2002, 11:00 AM
how much power does a GT Mustang have? it's heavier than the M3 isnt it?

JBL85
02-09-2002, 08:00 PM
mustang is 260hp and 305 Torque.... I am sure teh BMW is heavier just cuz it has more gizmos and gadets in it.
