Good evening Gentlemen (and lady),

I was going though a dry spell with my modeling, my airbrush breaking and having to strip the perfect paintjob off my Miata got me...
But! After visiting my friend, who just got back from Malaysia, I found that he had in his possession a Tamiya R-33 Calsonic Skyline. I offered to build it for him and he accepted, thus my dry spell is over...
I'm building it to his specifications which are; 24" Bellagios :sunglasse: :sunglasse: , Gloss black body, red rollcage, seat and trim and an aluminum spoiler.
As of now I have the body painted and i have the rims ready for mounting, it would mean removing the calipers of the stock brakes to have the 24's mounted so I opted for some lower profile ITR brakes which made the installation a breeze (A dremel make everything easy  ).

Here are the pics...

I'll have more later on tonight or tomorrow morning

I must admit guys when if this was my Skyline I would have built this as per any reference photos I could find, but "the costumer is always right."

I used P-mans guide for painting the springs, thanks P-man it works like a charm. The rims fit the wheel wells nicely, I also decided to add 3 degrees of camber. How do I know its 3 degrees? Just look at the pics...

Wow,

Pretty cool.

Not big on such big rims, but like you said that is what the customer wants.

Can't wait to see it finished.

Thanks for the compliments guys!!!

After some late night and early morning building i got the roll cage and interior painted. The seat is my favorite part, I love that Carbon Kevlar or whatever its supposed to be!!!

Also, I found an awesome way to take detail pictures. I have a magnifying light and I position it over the model and take a picture through the magnifying glass :bananasmi

And yes that is a first place Autocross Trophy in on my desk :D

Mounted the body today (damn these rims are huge) and it turns out i dont have to do any lowering, it sits perfectly :icon16: :icon16: This is all I'll be able to do before the weekend.

Ryan, screw homework!!!! :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa:

Looking good!! Was never really fond of street cars (which I assume this is) with race interiors - but this looks good so far! Nice colour combo! Can't wait to see it finished!

Thanks for the words guys!

I have actually expressed my distaste for "street cars with race interiors" and i suggested that I put interior of my R34 Skyline in this, but the owner wanted a "blacked out street car with red interior" and didnt what a normal interior :loser:

About the brakes... I could ask him if he wants me to order some XS tuning wheels which come with brakes, or i could order then from HLJ and get them next millenium some time :thinkerg:

or you could buy some styrene and somehow build your own 20" brakes! :smokin:

I have been trying to convince him to leave it wingless because it'll go nicely with the stealthly-type look he seems to like. ie: Tinted front lights... But he wants the big ass spoiler that comes with the kit painted chrome silver with black for the sides :eek7: It's not exactly stealth in the first place with 24's and with Huge aluminum spoiler, it's gonna be kinda wierd. :sly: I found that the kit comes with the spoiler that comes with the regular R33 which might look somewhat normal, so I'll ask him about that :smokin:
