best cheapest tiresmynismo 09-27-2003, 09:42 PM either these http://www.3800performance.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=3800P&Product_Code=NITTO_DR16&Category_Code=WT or these http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Pirelli&tireModel=PZero+Nero+M%26S&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=45WR60NMS&fromCompare1=yes i know the nittos are prolly better, but the treadwear is prolly awful. you know how many miles those could run on? the pirelli's get something like 40-50k. for the money i might just get the pirellis SR20DETpower 09-27-2003, 10:27 PM it all depends on your driving though, they could last 10k... Id say just go for the ones with better performance, or you will just wear out the eceno tires more looking for performance haha. stealthj 09-28-2003, 12:24 AM best performance for cheapest price? yokohoma avs es 100 get it u wont regret it mynismo 09-28-2003, 12:40 AM edit: im going to get the drag radials, and put the 15's back on when the snow comes. for the front im going to get some skinny 205 tires... any suggestions? thanks for your help guys grncivicdhr 09-28-2003, 12:51 AM best performance for cheapest price? yokohoma avs es 100 get it u wont regret it thats whats on my stock se rims now and what i ran on my civic. they are great tires. youngdrifter_x 09-28-2003, 12:58 AM Yeah. I like the Yokohamas. I suggest that you do not get the khumos though!! I HATE THEM! spitz7985 09-28-2003, 01:51 AM at $63 a pop, i love my falken azenis- 205/50/15 dekand 09-28-2003, 02:56 AM yeah im getting the yokohama avs es100's because they are about 130/each and get GREAT reviews on tirerack. I hear the Khumos are shit... im putting them on the cobra wheels i just picked up that are 17x8 so i'll tell you how i like them but everyone recommends them for the price/performance StanBo 09-28-2003, 09:16 AM My history with Nitto drag radials is that their sidewalls are not stiff (hello they are drag radials!) so if your local roads are potholed and crappy like mine they tend to balloon or football. I have had a set of Victoracers from Kumho and they were smashing! Good in the wet, good in peanut oil and fantastic on the dry. They do hurt the pocketbook but you can get them with plenty of life used from your local autoX guys. Azenis sports are great. I love them but they do horrible in the rain. I hydroplane on the NJTP. Why not hit up ebay or a local rag for a $80 special. Some maxima, q45, j30 or 15 rims and get some nice track rubber. You can either haul them in the car or get a miata type tire trailer with tool box. youngdrifter_x 09-28-2003, 10:45 PM I dont like khumos because they have this gap in the middle and when you go over a crack in the road the tires follow it...i was so annoying!!!!!!!!! I thought it was only front tires its rear tires too. mynismo 09-28-2003, 11:17 PM i'd never get kumhos again... i had ecsta 711's and they sucked. hit a pothole and lost two of them. i checked ebay, cant find anything... im getting 16x7.5 z32 rims.... so i need tires to go on those. the cleveland roads do suck, but there are a lot of muscle cars around me with slicks. i'll prolly get a set of these http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Pirelli&tireModel=PZero+Nero+M%26S&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=45WR60NMS&fromCompare1=yes and then get a couple nittos. spitz7985 09-28-2003, 11:30 PM Azenis sports are great. I love them but they do horrible in the rain. I hydroplane on the NJTP. hydroplaning is fun! no, not really. it's only fun when you do it on purpose. the azenis do hydroplane easier then others, but it you learn your car, you can pull out of almost any powerslide (i know you know what i mean stanbo) and if you have ABS you're good when it comes to stopping too. just drive smart in the rain and you'll be ok. you can't beat the azenis when it comes to price/performance. dayna240sx 09-29-2003, 11:03 AM [QUOTE=mynismo]i'd never get kumhos again... i had ecsta 711's and they sucked. hit a pothole and lost two of them. im getting 16x7.5 z32 rims.... so i need tires to go on those. the cleveland roads do suck, but there are a lot of muscle cars around me with slicks. QUOTE] First off I agree, I had Kumho 712's on my Kosei wheels and they started bulging ans seperating... not very predictible and not that great in the rain... better in rain than my current wider Yokohama AVS-i's. which i would reccommend to you if they still made them.. I would go for the Falken azenis or a set of Toyo Proxies TS-1. the falkens would be cheaper, but the Toyo are the most predicible tire I have ever driven (on track and on the street) with... even more so than my current Hoosier A03S03 Auto Slicks... Concerning you using a slick... Um, why would you want to use slicks on a car than runs high 14's??? with your amount of HP you would find yourself hardpressed to create wheel spin at the drag strip with a set of goodyear GTII (which is what i think you should get... with the yellow mullet "Nascar" lettering... to match your V8) :loser:  :lol2:  I had a 14.5 sec pass in my probe (w/o NO2) on a set of warn Mich (205/55/16) that came on my Turbo II wheels. by the way, my old Caprice Ex-police 9C1 car ran a 13.06 on GT-II's and had a 385 (stroked 350) 4-bolt main, with a complete corvette TPI fuel injection swap. SR20DETpower 09-29-2003, 11:29 AM lol Dayna, my brothers does 14.3 on worn out Supra 712's with his SS. Everyone is spitting on those tires, they arent too bad, course he runs a 275/40/17 lol. They do wear out quickly but that could also be the driving that the car sees all the time . Never seen them get messed up or anything, always wear down evenly to the point of slicks with no probs... what year was your 9c1 Dayna? dayna240sx 09-29-2003, 10:44 PM what year was your 9c1 Dayna? it was a 1989 CrzyMR2T 09-29-2003, 11:22 PM in my experience, i thought that the bridgestone potenzas were good, had good response, and good dry traction, wet traction was pretty good. dont have experience with yokohamas, but my friend has them on his car, and he says that its really good, noticeable difference. forgot what company tire he used to have though. my other friend has toyos on his mitsubishi gsx and it has really good traction, and response, tire wear seems to be really good too. Soyo 09-30-2003, 04:58 PM yea I'd go with toyos or falkens if I were buying tires, not that they are the cheapest, but they are both good quality SR20DETpower 09-30-2003, 05:54 PM some of those new BF Goodrich tires you see in the 2 page ads on the car mags are badass! Noticebly better grip then toyos! http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/images/catalog/tires/gforce_kdw_large.jpg thes tires are badass! expensive though Soyo 09-30-2003, 10:52 PM how much are those tires? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
