I've heard many times talking about a contest between the Ferrari F40 and the Mclaren F1 at the Suzuka race track, did that really happened? Did the F40 win? Does anybody have the video? Please give me some info on this.

I believe you're referring to road version -vs- road version, and I have never seen any footage of that.

As far as race versions are concerned, in 1995, at the 9th round of the BPR Championship at Suzuka, a pair of McLaren F1 GTRs took the top two positions with an F40 GTE coming in third. The following year in 1996, at the 7th round of the BPR Global Endurance Championship at Suzuka, a McLaren F1 GTR finished first, followed by an F40 GTE. The next four slots were filled with F1 GTRs before the next F40 crossed the line in 7th. In 1997 there weren't any F40s competing in the FIA GT series.

If someone has info about road car -vs- road car, I'd love to hear about it or see it as well. Suzuka isn't necessarily a track that would favor the strenghts of either car. I think it would make for a fairly even race with equal drivers.

yes , mika drives the f1 very hard and compares it to the f40 and the eb110 or eb110s.( i can't remember :rolleyes: )

Have you guys the video where Tiff Needle drives around in XP5 (or XP4) for a bit, then talks about the process of making a carbon monocoque and then walks down the production line where 003 and 004 are being built? It's one of the best i've seen.

I watched, and experienced, Larry Kinch driving 07R around Knockhill (Scotland) in 1998 a couple of months after he took the reins of ownership of this car ... At the saem time, some other oil mogul, with obviously FAR less balls than Larry, appeared at the circuit with his new F50, and promptly tossed the keys in the direction of Ian Forrest, Chief Instructor at Knockhill Circuit

The F1 was lapping the F50 every three laps ... and Larry WAS taking it 'easy'!!!
