HELP..GC8 Needs Turbo InfoJDMsweetz 09-22-2003, 01:43 AM Hey YOU.. :) My brother has a 99 2.5 RS Sedan and he's coming home from college soon...My parents wanted to Turbo his car as a gift for working so hard. I may be JDM girl but I know jack shiet about Suburus..If anyone could give me info on where I would find a turbo kit for his car, that'd be awesome.. Thanks! :) Lyna LjasonL 09-22-2003, 02:23 AM Technically that should read "GM6 Needs Turbo Info" ;) http://www.ludespeed.com/impreza.html is probably the most popular kits. If you live in a hot climate or expect him to be driving it hard all the time, I'd be wary about a non-intercooled kit... Personally if I were gonna go the kit route, I'd get the stage 1 but add a custom FMIC and the J&S is a real good idea also if you've got the money. I'm just saying it could be done cheaper with a much nicer looking front mount than just buying the stage 2. JDMsweetz 09-22-2003, 02:28 AM Oh..I thought it was Gc8..See, i know nothing about Suburu's,,Lol...but yah..help! Lyna p.s. nice pics.. LjasonL 09-22-2003, 02:50 AM "GC8" is the term people use to refer to ANY old body style Impreza. But GC8 is a WRX coupe. GC6 would be an RS coupe. Placing an M instead of the C would be a Sedan, GM6 = RS Sedan and GM8 = WRX Sedan. An F would be a wagon. Then you go to the new body style... Okay wait, this is getting confusing. Lemme put it in another format. 93-01 Impreza: GC = coupe GM = sedan GF = wagon 8 = 2.0 turbo 6 = 2.5 4 = I think 4 is used for all others examples: GF8 = WRX wagon GM6 = 2.5RS sedan GC6 = 2.5RS coupe GM8 = WRX sedan GC8 = WRX coupe 02-03 Impreza GD = sedan GG = wagon 6 = 2.5 A = 2.0 turbo B = STi examples: GD6 = 2.5RS GG6 = 2.5TS GDA = WRX sedan GGA = WRX wagon GDB = STi And there we have it. Useless Subaru trivia. JDMsweetz 09-22-2003, 03:20 PM THAT was SO Confusing!! But it's all good..I learned something new..and it was about a Suburu! Never thought that day would come.. :) That was way helpful..I think i will print it out lol..But that doesn't answer me, i need info on a turbo kit for him!! LjasonL 09-22-2003, 05:40 PM http://www.ludespeed.com/impreza.html There's where you can buy a kit. What more do you need? http://www.forcedairtech.com/ - there's another edit: heres a used Ludespeed stage 2 upgraded to a stage 3 with the injectors that no longer come in the kits for $3000, great price! http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=414633 JDMsweetz 09-22-2003, 05:49 PM i've never bought any car parts just from a random person or place without a good deal..lol so I am looking for someone that will cut me some slack. :) LjasonL 09-22-2003, 05:56 PM Get the used kit I added in up there. If I had $3000 available right now I would. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
