First, Hello,
im new in this forum, and again, i need a lot of help!

Now, i have 1993 del Sol Si, however i bought it from a Russion dealership (biiiig mistake), and it turned out that it is an "S" engine, D15B7 in an "Si" body! I was pissed, but then i learned to live with it!
So, now after a year and a half of owning it, I JUST LOVE IT! My problem is, that my transmission is "whining" and i will have to change it.
question is, is it worth changing since the transmissions for this type of engines are deffective in general, the wheel bearings inside crap-out really quick. Now my BIGGEST question is that i am thinking about swaping the whole engine and putting a "BETTER" one in.
Now i wanted to ask you if an B16A JDM motor, SECOND GENERATION would fit in my body, WITHOUT mods, since the guy who will mostly do the swap is a very good friend and i am not too familiar with engine swaps. And can you tell me what my options are for engines that do not need mods to fit, however i'd like a more powerfull ones :P
thank you in advance and I am still deciding! TOUgh decision- SELL or MODIFY!??

Drop in a B16. Direct bolt in swap. go to www.hmotorsonline.com to check out and see what they've got.

All B-series motors will practically drop in. Only need to change things like the motor mounts and ECU among a few other things, but you're just replacing parts to make it fit and work, not modifying anything.

unless you get a b18c5 (ITR engine.. 195 hp), don't bother with JDM. The only reason they get higher hp is because in Japan they use higher octane fuel (around 101, whereas in the US we get 93 at the highest, usually). As soon as you run the lower octane gas, out the window goes the higher hp. But likewise, if you can find a place to get higher octane gas, and then put it in a USDM engine, the hp goes up quite a bit.

Damn those Japanese... they always get all the good stuff. :p

that doesnt mean all the other JDM motors are worthless tho...

well why spend the extra cash on a jdm H22/b18/b16 when you can get the same in the USDM model for less cash? A lot of people don't know that about JDM engines. If I put 101 octane in my b16, I'd be hitting around 180 hp bone stock, too. JDM engines aren't any different than the US ones. They just have more options.
