most of the time you might un plug something and not resetting the ECU can result in a CEL. Also if you put on...lets say an intake, the ECU is used to the stock airbox and its flow, and it needs to be able to compensate for the more air flowing into the motor.

well i thought the only way to reset ur ecu was to disconnect your neg cable on your battery for about 10 min or take out your ecu fuse and replace it. and call me stupid what is CEL

that is the way you do it. CEL = Check Engine Light

but what does all this have to do with the first question you asked??

why does it have to be the negative cable? Cant it be the positive cable also? hehe... or both?

just wanted to know if it was worth my time to reset the ecu :smokin:

i would say so, after i got my intake, i drove it for a few days, and then i reset the ecu, and the exhaust tone changed, and the response was a little better then before i reset it.

wow, i wasn't aware of this.... i have short ram intake, dc header, hp racing catback - would you recommend this for my 03 EX Coupe?

All I need to do is unplug the negative from the battery for 10 min, and take out the ECU fuse? Sweet! Wait... call me a newbie or whatever, but is the ECU fuse inside the actual fuse box?

Also, has anyone heard if doing this will result in CEL in the new 01+ Civics?
