Hi, First post on this forum, would like to lower the rear end of my 90 Accord about 1 inch. This would make it even with the front end, thats my goal to make the vehicle even.

What would be the best way to accomplish this, and most economical way. Any feedback appreciated, all pro and cons of attempting to lower just the rear end.

how about get an actual suspension that lowers the whole car all around, and will also level it out.

OEM suspension for a 90 Honda Accord is level. When suspension is lowered, the front is usually lowered a bit more than the rear. So, if you end up just lowering the rear, you get a funky lowrider look where the rear is actually lower.

Maybe something is wrong with your front suspension or your have a different perception of what is "level".

i said it is pointless to lower just the back, and aftermarket suspension doesnt lower the whole car the same thats why there is two different measurements. look at any site, it tells u how much the front gets dropped and how much the back gets dropped.


both your post contradicted everything u said. that u wanna lower just the rear in your first post, and in the second one, u said that just lowering the rear gives it a funky lowrider effect that u dont want :uhoh:

so basically lower the whole car with a good suspension and it will level out the car because it doesnt lower the whole car the same. :banghead: :banghead:

Akina, I measured at the top of both wheel wells, front and back on a level surface. The front measured about 26.25 in. the back about 27 in. And visually the back looks higher than the front, the vehicle has 76,000 miles on it so I dont believe the suspension is worn out. I was told by a garage I have one front strut out, would that make a difference?

You have a problem. Your front suspension is lower than your rear suspension. If you look at any car (I mean any car), the front wheelwell is always higher than the rear wheelwell. Exceptions are trucks, jeeps, tractor trailers.
Leveling out the car may involve installing new struts all around.
