i have a 1990 z24.

I have a 2003 cav coupe (red) with 2.2 ecotec.

what would the 'other' cavalier be? someone drop a v8 into their cavalier?-lol, that i'd like to see!

I have 2004 Cavalier w/2.2 ecotech that's sunburst orange. BTW for the 500 + hp camaro. You'd beat me to the nearest gas station and I would give you the finger and laugh as I go buzzin by for atleast another 200 + miles.......

I have a 93 cavalier rs 3.1 v6 convertible with american racing split 5 spoke wheels and razzi body kit.I also got a new black top to replace the white one. As to the camaro dude i've gotten this to 140+ at the track. And this thing will surely beat a camaro z28 in a rally race. :lol:

i'm with 2001cav the 1000 horse ecotec is bad and in a lighter vehicle so power to weight ratio cavy wins

lol, i think my Z24 would beat El_Diablo_Latino, i run low 12's with a Turbo V6, lol, its faster than my IROC-Z by 2.5 seconds lol, if i get slicks on it, and take out the bumber braces, i might break into the 11's

Cavlier was not meant to compete with a high end sports car from the same company, but if you take the 1050hp 2.2 Ecotec and pit that against a 590hp camaro, the cav will finish before the camaro starts, and considering the price difference between the two, who would buy a camaro??

hey, dont knock the camaro, i love my camaro, and i hate to say it, but i would take it over my cavalier anyday, but that again, a 400ho cavalier is hard to live with on the street,(flywheel hp)

I drive a nice 2002 Silver 4-Door. Crappy blue neons inside that my brother ripped up from the crappy glue haha. A lot of people knock the cavalier, and I havent driven any other cars, but I dont think its too bad. To me anyway it has good handling, and while zero to 60 is like 11 seconds haha, its not toooooo incredibly slow. Wait no, haha it gives the impression of going fast. My only complaint is that it tends to be jerky.

I just picked up a 91 rs wagon 2.2 for a hundred bucks I had to replace the freeze plugs cause the galvanized ones were ate up. I think with a few tweaks like some new rims,tires and some tint it could be fairly nice little grocery getter.

If you want to spend the kind of money you have to spend in gas in that thing, you go right ahead, I'd rather have something that looks good, runs good, and doesn't guzzle gas. Besides, its a camaro, thats a muscle car, why would you even compare it to a cavalier? Cavaliers weren't meant to be muscle cars. Whats the matter, are you afraid to brag your car up in the camaro forum, so you come here and compare it to our little 4 and 6 cylinders? Oh, btw, if I could afford to modify my cav, I'd definately beat you. I think you came in here because you can't beat a car in your own class. the camaro and the cavalier are in two different classes, the camaro is a pony car, affordable muscle. tThe cavalier is an econobox, it can go fast, but it's not designed to, straight line, with the same amount of money in mods, the camaro would own you, but on a curvy course the cavalier definately has the upper hand. stop trying to compare apples and oranges

I have a 95 2.2L 5-speed Sport coupe. I dunno what the technical name of it is, but its turquoise. Ive got a MTX 12'' with a RF 600W amp, and a pioneer deck. Ive put 16" 6-spoke rims off a subaru, they look real good too! It has a new 30% tint all the way around. I shaved the emblems and replaced the front badge with a pinstripe, and the rear badge with an "SS" emblem of an early 70's Chevelle, and striping. I love this car

I have a black 1991 3.1lt Z24 shaved all but the z24 emblems it is sweet ohh and I have raced a camaro it was a close race I was at the edge of his door most of the time untill we hit a turn then I would shoot ahead in the end I lost

This is funny, nothing but a bunch of flamers at this forum...Anyway, i have a 96 LS sedan, nothing special, just a little extra from Fosgate and JL. I don't love it, the tranny just blew up at only 86000 miles.

sorry to hear it giundy, my tranny's still kickin at 200k, but had to replace the engine about 10k mi ago....

Why are you talking about the gas mileage a camaro gets vs. a cavaliers? Are you all just plain ignorant? Trans Ams get about 23-28. Same as my little MX6... huh... v8 getting the same mileage as my 4 banger.. go figure... guess that's technology. :roll: Kids... get a real car...

one of my freinds has a 1993 camaro that has a 3.4 v6 in it
my car had a 2.8 v6( recently it blew up on the highway at 105)

We pulled up to a stop light ready to race so soon as it turned green we went for it i stayed even on him until 75 or so cause thats when that motor looses its shit

and BTW they where both auto's

91 2.2L Coupe. I'm happy w/it. It's taken 2 years of work, but it's running smoother now that any car I've owned before (including a 2000 Echo that was bought brand new).

It looks like crap and isn't a racer, but It'll prob outlast all my friends current cars.

acually i really do, i have this creepy love afare with the first gen Z24, its really quite sad. but if you know anyone selling one of them tell me, i would love to have a 4 or 5 speed one

i will see if i cant find any they didnt make but like 3 or 4 thousand of the 87 z24 hatchbacks so those are real hard to find but i keep an eye out

i can beat a stock z28. but not one with 500hp. u should try racin my friends ss with over 700hp. it would kill your z28 moron.

i have a 93 apple red 2 door 5 speed cavalier with an iceman cold air intake, dropped 2" , new plugs , new wires, full tusodo cat back exhaust and some other small things...

i just a 2001 Z24 2.4L silver. I like it alot, its fun to drive. I havent done anything to upgrade it yet, i think its cause i just spent all my money on the car, i think ill either get cold air intake or new exhaust when i get the cash.

They are not bad cars though...I wasn't dissing them.

I have a 2004 Cavalier VL 4 door with automatic trans.

silver 2001 2.2L auto cav with the hood painted black and a scoop positioned over the ram air filter..16' ASA rims (subaru style) lowered suspension eibach prokit, euro head lights , race ignition wires , cam , shift kit, 2.5 exhuast with flowmaster muffler, and some more...now im just waiting for the turbo......oh by the way...I LOVE MY CAR!!!

Well it would seem this thread is revived. I currently drive an 88 Beretta GT 5 speed but Im a mere month away from getting my yellow 2003 Cavalier LS Sport. Should be a nice change of pace eh?

I have a 1998 4 door 2.4L DOHC black cavy with power windows/mirrors. You'd think it was a Z24 but according to the VIN code, that might have been how it started out until they 4 doored the thing! I wouldn't have it any other way!

I have a 98 light blue Z24, everything on it is stock except for the stereo.

i have a red 98 RS, 2200 5 speed, power sunroof and factory cd player, and oh yeah, 15's (i guess not all cavaliers have 15 inch tires?)

Ok i used to own a camaro, putting 500hp in a sbc is easy, getting a 4 banger to 500hp takes some work more of a high. I just really want to know if you have 500hp and you add a sc how the hell do you only gain 90hp? I love camaro's becuase of the ease to speed up rather than the cavalier. but tank enough money into anything and it will be fast

I once had a brand new 95 Camaro that had problems straight from the factory. It needed a fuel pump two weeks after I bought it. At the end with barely 85,000 miles on it, it needed a transmission. To say the least, that Camaro was the worst new car I had ever owned. What has been my most favorite Chevy? That's right! Every single Cavalier that I have ever owned! I have had three, two of them I bought brand new. Cavaliers rule!

well we dont drive the 3.1 one. but we have a 3.1 v6. 93 ... actually thats a pontiac but its the same thing .. and we have a 98 2.2' and a 02' 2.2 5 speed.

I have a 02 4 door non-eco cavi. only 115 hp, but fuel is outstanding and power is decent.

acually there is one cavalier that can beat yours. it runs 9.64 in a quarter mile. it used the same stock ecotec engine turned sideways and converted to a rear wheel drive. he has turbo and nitrous from what i could see and the whole car looked as light as it could possibly get. but ya it would burn your camaro easy. if you want the link just reply and all post it

I drive a 2000 2.2L cavvy and you can view my website....personally i dont think that cavaliers are the best platform for a performace domestic car....there so hard to work on and everything about them is incredibly difficult...but then again i've never drivin any other car let alone worked on another one so mabye all cars are different and difficult in their own way

There are two V-6's: 3.1 and 2.8 but he didn't get specific.

i drive a 04 cavalier with the 2.2 ecotec... been lookin around for a junk cobalt to pull the supercharger off it hehe.. then i figure ill badge it with some ss tags

Other is 95 2.3 quad4...people say it's a horrible engine. but it's been great for me...just the rest of the damn car:banghead:

I own a cavalier 2.2 as my daily driver. did some minor adjustments to make it sound an feel good:), but for ppl who drive around in cameros, i got something for you to, its a 96 caprice LT1 supercharged it beat and SS so ya:D

I own a Silver 2000 Z24 2-door.

So far it has an AEM short ram intake, Magnaflow exhaust, some decals, blue led interior glow kit, and some bosch platinums.

Planned mods:

GM supercharger, performance cams, new header, strut bar, air lift suspension, XENON body kit, ram air style hood, haven't decided which spoiler, 17" low prof rims, custom seats, painted interior, new guages, short throw shift kit, and plan to paint it metallic blue, and probably a few more things I can't think of right now.

Hi I have an old 91 cavalier that I bought to drive to work and save my new car (2004 sunfire). I drove it for about a year trouble free now I'm having trouble with the cooling fan and the transmission doesn't want to come out of high gear when it warms up. I don't want to spend a bunch of money on it and would like to get rid of it.:disappoin

The motor runs great and I enjoy driving the old thing.. but it time to say goodbye. :frown:

Yea well at least im taking a car thats not fast and making it fast already... its not like daddy bought me a new camaro... it takes pride and work to make a cav fast... it takes daddys credit card, and a ride to a dealership to make a camaro fast....:nono:

Well things are looking up today. I fixed the problem with the rad fan and I changed the fluid in the transmission and added an additive and the transmission is working fine again. I love the old car because you don't have to worry about someone hitting it with a grocery cart and I get 45 miles to the gallon.

I have a 95 cavy with a 2.2 auto. Doing an conversion to 2.4 and manual this winter. Also looking for tips on building a hi po engine out of a 2.4 i have an extra complete engine.

Ok i have a 2000 2.2l sedan i love my cavy and ive had a beefy camaro b4.It was an 89 z28.Holly 4 barrel carb,flowmaster,venom 400 chip, intake manifold and it was bad ass reall fast could burn the tires like a mother fucker, but id rather have my cavy better on gas...alot better.

dude the venom 400 won't work with a carb, it works with fuel injection.

Hey, I will be converting my 94 cavalier 2.2 L4 to probably a 305 V8 and make it RWD. I will do this once I buy a new car in a couple of years. It is going to be one faaast car lol.
