Clueless on Keyless...bekka 09-12-2003, 02:28 PM Just bought a used '02 Camry LE. It didn't come with keyless remote but I'd like to add it. I read the programming instructions in another post here (THANKS!). My question is: can I just buy a Toyota FOB and program it like folks said and it will work? Or do I need to be sure there is some keyless system installed in my LE to work with the FOB? If so, how do I do this? Has anybody used the keyless kits from JC Whitney or other vendors and would they work on my Camry? In short... how do I give my Camry keyless? Any help is appreciated... Thanks! MayesToy2k4 09-14-2003, 08:36 PM You also need to buy the receiver for which the remotes will respond to. I don't know how much, though, because my car came with it when I bought it. It will probably be somewhat spendy, especially if you get the glass breakage sensor (which sounds the alarm at the sound of breaking glass) and especially moreso if you let Toyota install it. basketballgod5 09-14-2003, 11:30 PM i put my own system in... alarm.. keyless entry... and automatic starter i baught the unit for $150 on e-bay and was very easy, but time needy installation all you need is a basic knowledge of electronics and a wiring digram :) if u get the diagram please send to me too he he i need for my power antenna Carsloverjcl 10-01-2003, 08:34 PM Unless you know what you are doing I would recommend yo asking your dealer to install it. No harm besides you waste money. Or you don't have to get it at all. :grinno: I personally have a 95' Camry LE Fully Loaded and it came with it & alarm system porbably becuase my dad ordered it. But funny thing is since you have the newest version of the Camry it should have had keyless entry. It's standard on all the modesl (LE, SE, XLE) Maybe the dealer screwed up. ________________________________________ 1995 Toyota Camry LE Fully Loaded 2004 Toyota Sienna XLE Limited SleepingLionHeart 10-14-2003, 02:06 AM i have a 2001 camry solara se, and it has keyless entry and i don't have a remote i saw 2diffrent remotes one with a TRUNK RELEASE and one with just lock unlock and panic, how can i know which one to get vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
