ok, im trying to install a cd player in my 94 camry. it has a stock tape player/radio, model # A16404 it has no "cd" button just "am/fm" and "tape"

the cd player i connected is a toyota compact disc player model # 34210.

it fits perfect into the bay and it connects perfect to the existing stereo it just doesn't work. when i turn the car on the cd player works [it plays but through the speakers is just static] but the radio does not and is completely blank on the green LED screen. if i switch to am/fm the cd player then turns off and the radio functions as normal.

i recall reading something on the internet about switching to the cd player when there is no "cd" button, but i cant find that now. any help?

The stock radio and the stock CD player are two different things. The compact disc should have the CD button. I have a 3-disc in-dash CD chnager. The radio doesn't have the CD button, its on teh CD chnager itself.
