Of course, eache one has its advantages, but, which one would be the most pleasant to drive ?

BMW 525tds Pack
New Mini Cooper
Mazda MX5 1.8 (Miata)
BMW Z3 1.8 or 1.9
Peugeot 206 CC 1.6 16s Roland Garros
BMW 318i Pack 118hp 2 or 4 doors

One of these cars would replace my 156. I picked these cars regarding the consumption, the price (as second hand and the easyness of re-sale), the price of insurance and the handling, mainly. ;)

This is all Euro... Americans..we gotta realize.. BMW's here are a dime a dozen. They DO still radiate class though. Just thought I would throw that out there. Personally I would go for the Peugot. As military, I could get it for about 65% cheaper than going price. 15% less with VAT card, and they sell it to us Americans for 40 percent less. The Cooper is overrated by some, decent bang.. but not enough of a car performancewise if you ask me. Not to mention sizewize if you like your room. The Miata, that can be one hell of a fun car to drive. Driving one actually surprised me, and I gained alot of respect for the car I used to make fun of at one point. In the end though, The Z3 has my vote. It seems to outclass all of those cars by a longshot, and if its in your price range go for it I'd say.

I'd also take the Z3. I imagine its going to be have a smaller interior then the others, but it would be my choice.

I'd go w/the Miata as being the most fun to drive...but obviously it's a small 2 seater car...so it has it's drawbacks...just make sure you have something bigger if you want to take a big trip etc

I'm only 19, no wife, no job, no children, so the room is not really a problem, even if 4 seats are a good thing.
The Z3 is not very dicreet...
The 525tds is quite big, mainly in the towns, but nice to drive with the 6cylinders. The 318i or Ci ? nobody vited for that ?? ! ;) Not a good choice ?
The Miata/MX5 would be funny indeed.
I've driven the 525tds, the 206 CC and the Mini now. I've to try the others.

Even though I have driven none of those cars, I would pick the Miata because it is inexpensive and A LOT of performance modifications can be done to it. It is almost the only real track "sports car" on the list...

MX5 if you want driving pleasure
525 if you want comfort
Z3 if you want style but no real performance
206CC as above- but with a neato folding-tin-top
MINI is a preacticality thing- with a reasonable amount of performance and pleasure
3 Series is the allrouner- not as good as the others in thier respective catagoreys- but not bad in any.

If it were me though- it's be an MX5

Don't expect to see any sport car in my list. My insurance limits me in my choice.
But the Peugeot 607 Hdi is very nice to me.... what do you think of this car ? You had one in V6 Jim, isn't it ? ;)

No one's said anything about the mini cooper! It's such a badass car! Too bad it's not a mini cooper s. but still, it's such a fun car... it's unique, and says I'm willing to have fun. It's not a performance car, that's for damned sure, but it's not meant to be. To me, it's like a classy geo. It'll have great gas mileage if you're 19 that's important. It's a little tighter than the others, but I hear it's not as cramped as it looks from the outside. Plus I'll bet the cooper doesn't have very bad insurance at all. It's light so it won't crush through a bridge trussle, and it's not extremely powerful, and it's not sporty, and it's more of a family car. Cooper.. all the way.

Comparing a Mini to a Geo... mhhh, you're not nice ! :D

the comparison's there when you're talking about sub compact 2 door coupes with such a short wheel base... the difference is like comparing a gen 1 viper to a miata.. they're both roadsters, but one's like a house in cherry hills, and the other a dumpster behind mcdonalds.. ya know?
