Wiring audio-in jack

Odyssey EX 2002, standard audio (AM/FM single CD, no cassette), plus dealer installed in-dash 6 CD player.

I want to install an audio-in jack for portable computer/iPod/MP3 player; either dual RCA jacks or mini-audio plug will be fine. Using FM transmitter accessories for these devices can be a pain in terms of ability to get a clean signal.

Can I splice into the 6-CD changer cable? If so, where can I get the pin-out for the cable without spending $50 for the HELMS "1999-2003 Odyssey Electrical Troubleshooting Manual"?

Have you looked at any of these?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I already have an FM modulator that broadcasts to the system. As I tried to indicate, while it does work, the quality cannot be (and isn't) the same as a direct connection.

In looking through info for the entertainment center (an option I don't have), it appears that there is an AUX-IN on the part of the system that's in the back seat. This implies to me that there must be a way to deal with another signal; I just need to know which wires to splice into?

mmmhhmm check out a company called blitzsafe if you have not connected into the cd changer port of the factory radio then you can use it as an aux in...

I am not sure if they sell to the open market or strictly authorized dealers but their phone# is 1-800-597-safe(7233). hope it helps

The adapter quoted will work, but is expensive.

On another forum I found reference to a variety of adaptors from P.I.E, all of which can be found at LogJam Electronics online; the simplest is at the address below for $49.95

Have you looked here?

Their forum has a bunch of people in the same boat. I have an iPod but am stuck with an FM transmitter until my lease is up and I can install a new head unit with an AUX in.

thanks for the link to the CD changer converter, but is there any (cheaper) way to do this? can't I just tap directly into the harness? or buy a harness from honda, and splice it directly in?
