So got anything planned for yours yet Hiroboy? So far I'm planning to scratch build the Mazdaspeed kit (this will be my first scratchbuild kit)

Silver with charcoal wheels like the showcar :)

I'm hoping Fujimi has designed the kit like most of their new models, w/separate bumpers....then we might not have to scratchbuild the Mazdaspeed version or buy it from SAS...that maybe, just maybe...Fujimi will offer the Mazdaspeed version next...

I guess one way or another many of us will have Mazdaspeed RX8's before too long!:bigthumb:

It doesn't look like it'd be too hard to build off of the stock bumpers and such actually, just open up the vents more, putty some bits up... We'll see... Be interesting to see what people come up with :)

Well everyone, the new RX-8 is finally in at HLJ, but they are going on holiday from August 13 to August 18. I really want that kit, but from recent post HLJ has been either super slow or moderately expensive with ems. I am not going to spend that much on shipping for one kit. Can anyone reccomend some where better that ships to the U.S. fast & cheap that should have the RX-8 by now also.

Anyways, I don't really like RX-8but whatever floats your boat.

How can you not like it? It's a sweet ride. It's no RX-7 though.

I just don't like the body styles and I don't really like Madza either.

This is the Mazdaspeed (factory performance division) version of the RX8. Hoping that Fujimi does this variation as well.

I hope the MazdaSpeed version is included in this kit being that they simply add a different front bumper, back bumper, sideskirts, and or wing. Ok, maybe I am asking to much from the fujimi people, but then again they did jack up their prices so they should offer more now......righ!:iceslolan

I think it would be safe to assume Fujimi will tackle this one so I won't be. I'm waiting to see what the ReAmemiya version looks like, judging by sketches in Option, it looks damn fine! Then of course the market will be flooded with heaps of body kits from the likes of C-West etc so i'll be busy just decided what treatment this kit should receive from SAS.

I still want Tamiya to do a full-detail kit of the RX8!

Then we could really start having fun  :bigthumb:

Separate front and rear leaves plenty of options open for Fujimi.

Wish it wasn't molded in red, but the wheels look decent from what I can see. :dunno:

I agree with Veyron! They should mold all kits either in white or grey. This looks like a good model anyway. Can't wait to see all the variants they come out with, especially a Bomex version:bigthumb:

it does look shockingly well made...

and to all of you saying "they should make this, or that",

you're all very wrong, they should make the X-men 2 movie car, now that's a freaking nice car.

ooh
ill be putting my widebody HKS STi WRX Coupe project on hold for a while I think. Even if Fujimi or whoever release a mazdaspeed version I want to make one myself and be among the first with one, It's more fun doing things yourself sometimes. Just my opinion, I know not everybody is like that.

The Mazdaspeed RX-8 looks tight! I wasn't interested in Mazda's line (did like the Miata though) until recently with the introduction of the Mazda 6 and now the RX-8! :bigthumb:

Remember that EMS is cheaper up to 1.75 kg, and one kit won't weigh that much even with the packing and box.
SAL might sounds slow, but in reality, it only takes about 7 business
days from Japan to Kansas. I'm sure it'll be one day shorter to Chicago.

Judging from the kit pictures, it looks like Mazdaspeed RX-8 is highly
likely, which is a good news. Still, I'll be buying one extra to make "the blue RX-8." ;)

Looks like HLJ are going to have a busy time when they get back from their holidays...
Mines on back order too along with a long over due MX5 Mk2 (like the one I drive (when the wife lets me)).

Just out of interest this will be the first Fujimi I've ordered (I'm a tamiya addict).
What are your experiences with the quality of the latest releases??

 There does seem to be a disappointingly low level of detail in the kit. I assume half of the chassis detail is molded in as there appears to be very few chassis components on those sprues

You are right, it basically consist of a chassis, two struts, steering rod and a single metal axel for the the rear.

hey, guys stop crying!
Its finally there after many months, and it does look a bit simple, but that 's even better for us, to detail it further, to make it better and to scratchbuild some stuff.

I, for one, like it a lot.

Thanks Fujimi

Too bad there is no LHD dash or separate door panels. For 2500 yen you'd think they'd be slightly more generous... :shakehead :banghead:

The rest looks good.

Maybe Tamiya will be interested in a full-detail version. I'm not holding my breath though  :iceslolan

At 2500 yen this kit is way overpriced. If you were to compare it with an equivalent street car kit such as the Toyota Celica or Nissan Skyline, Tamiya's offerings appear to have much more detail but sell for only 1800 yen. That's quite a difference :screwy:

I have made some test. the best color I found was a Coat of Sunset Leman (Nissan A17) then a coat of Mica Red.. that give you a very good color.

I want the mazda speed version.

Honestly I think the stock Rx-8 looks not that good compared to the Rx-7.

But the Mazdaspeed version almost look practically better than the FD.
