Since Carbon Fiber Hoods lighten up a good amount of load off of a car.....I was wondering how much would it cost if I wanted to make my whole 1996 Honda Civic Ex Coupe carbon fiber.

I've seen hoods, fenders, trunk lids, spoilers, side skirts, and lips. You're going to have a problem with the doors, rear quarter panels and roof, which means a lot of money to have stuff custom made.

lol, or you could just make your civic out of tin, that would make it light.... :lol2:

Seriously though that would seem like alot of work, and personaly I think its not worth the hassle. I wouldn't try something that extreme unless you really have some high expectations of your car for speed. :)

i've seen a Shell go for 9k i bet it won't meet safety though there are other parts other then hoods in CF but a whole car thats race only man. Want really good weight saving get billet parts suspenion rolling weight taken off really helps.

yeah, I wouldn't go all carbon fiber for a daily driver. That's dangerous and too much money.

It helps extremely in handling. Mugen did it to their 2002 Civic Type R. But that was strickly a race car.

If you want your car to be lighter go buy an EG hatch.

hell yeah, cheaper too. Slap a b16 or b18, good to go. Theres one at an autocross even all the time. He places 3rd at of everyone there...and that damn good, we have like 70 something people there with some damn good cars.

i've seen full blown drag imports that have a carbon fiber shell(nsx on TV a couple weeks ago)im sure it cost ALOT of $$$ to do this though, to have a whole shell custom molded of CF.
