328 ChopHonkeytonk Monkey 08-29-2003, 03:16 PM I know I already entered the Jetta in the competition, but I had to take a crack at the BMW too... http://fototime.com/{F77784FA-E935-4925-A478-66C48C6932CB}/picture.JPG http://www.angelfire.lycos.com/fl5/heyhey/435.jpg can you spot all the changes? :naughty: Weapon X 08-29-2003, 04:13 PM I'm curious as to how you did the color of the body. Did you just use the lasso to select the body of the car and then change the color balance of blue highlights? DSMDude 08-29-2003, 07:08 PM phat ass monkey good job! props to ya spididdy 08-29-2003, 09:49 PM yeah that color looks sick as fuck, but is it only me or do those rims look cartoonish? LadyLuke 08-29-2003, 11:47 PM :thefinger :evillol: Weapon X 08-29-2003, 11:57 PM Almost looks like you used the normal method for the front of the car and just airbrushed a cool blue around the edges of the side. Realy nice job  rims55556 08-30-2003, 12:21 AM How did u get the tint to be so shiny on the side windows? Also what color tint is that?? Its cool Graphik Styles 08-30-2003, 12:55 AM How did u get the tint to be so shiny on the side windows? Also what color tint is that?? Its cool my guess is taht he took the tint from another car.... nice chop, only think i dotn like is the wing.....heh ehh :icon16: spididdy 08-30-2003, 02:26 PM yeah he did take that tint from another car. and now that i look at thatwing it kinda looks goofy. LadyLuke 08-31-2003, 12:53 PM the fender on the opposite side is to high in my opinion crxlvr 08-31-2003, 02:27 PM the only thing i dont like are the rims, and the front bumper, the placement is fine, but the middle is kinda blurry. good work. Weapon X 08-31-2003, 09:20 PM I dont think anyone else will notice this so I should draw attention to it... I like how you added subtle things like you even changed the small reflection of the wheels and calipers to fit your mods. Honkeytonk Monkey 09-01-2003, 02:07 AM Hey thanks all, Addressing a few comments... Tint: The tint is not from another car. To do tint, I take a picture of some scenery (a treeline in this case) and adjust the saturation to about -70, then adjust the brightness/contrast until the treeline turns black. I then Clone stamp the scenery image onto a new layer over the car, adjust the opacity of the level to 50% and use the eraser tool to trim the windows until they only cover the glass sections. Color Change: I select Duplicate Optimised to make a new clone image, and desaturate it (black & white) then use the vivid light tool to change the color to a darker blue, then using the clone stamp tool I transfer the copied image to a new layer on the original image. I then use the eraser tool to trim the excess color from everything put the body panels Wheels: Wheels are chrome, and do not look cartoonish in the larger original image. I had to hand draw in the rotors with the paintbrush tool. Spoiler: It was also hand drawn using the paintbrush tool and only black and white. It's too big :) Bodykit/fender badging/side exhaust/front grille/foglights/angel eyes/hood vents/eyelids: Hand drawn Also, nobody mentioned it, but I turned the Coupe into a 4 door. I like how you added subtle things like you even changed the small reflection of the wheels and calipers to fit your mods. I noticed that too. that chop is really awesome (except the spoiler) rims55556 09-01-2003, 01:20 PM how would u make the tint shiny like that without the tree? spididdy 09-01-2003, 01:29 PM well he probly got the window from another car. calvin3 09-01-2003, 01:58 PM Not too bad.....I like the reflection in the water, I like the tint. I don't care for the wing (I just don't like wings on street cars) it also dosen't continue through the back window. Did you forget the back door handles? Whats the white hump on the hood? well he probly got the window from another car. Yeah since he already said he did. LadyLuke 09-01-2003, 02:04 PM i think that white hump is his other fender...That is what i thought at least Honkeytonk Monkey 09-02-2003, 11:44 AM calvin3, I did continue the wing throught the rear window, musn't have saved afterwards, oops, that's not like me. I agree the wing blows, it's on it's own layer though so no big deal. Didn't forget the back door handles. think a la RX8. Otherwise the door openings would be horrible little crevices like on the 4 door Cherokees... bad memories... The white humps on the hood are heat extractors for the front rotors, like in the touring car, air comes in from the front dam, and shoots up and out the extractor. Added benefit is a mild increase in downforce on the front end. And again, I did NOT get the window from another car. I used background scenery (a picture of a treeline) and... well I already explained it. That extra bar in the window was just hand drawn in there :) CivicLeader 09-02-2003, 02:13 PM HTM....i think you chop is friggin' awesome bro...really nice work... Hand drawn body kit/etc...what did you use...just an optical mouse can't do such clean lines....or can it? Good work...alway's appreciated! CL Honkeytonk Monkey 09-03-2003, 01:20 PM I do everything with an old fashioned gummed up roller ball mouse :disappoin I blow the chop up to 1600x1200 to fit my screen and then start on it. I shrink it back down when I'm done, otherwise I'd go insane trying to make my car audio sytem maps http://fototime.com/{BE9070A7-DFC6-42CE-8511-83A54729134F}/picture.JPG DSi 09-03-2003, 11:01 PM I do everything with an old fashioned gummed up roller ball mouse :disappoin [/IMG] Thats the secret :naughty: & just 2 buttons :evillol: CivicLeader 09-04-2003, 02:08 PM lol.....That's friggin' awesome....
