Upgrade / replace your 2.7 with a 3.2desiva 08-29-2003, 01:52 PM If any of you have a high repair bill for as 2.7l that's failed, contact me if you want to upgrade to the more reliable 3.2L (or 3.5L). I can do this for much less than what repair estimates are for the 2.7s. My email is desiving1@hotmail.com thanks. RCSMG 11-29-2003, 12:40 PM I have a 2.7 that I had the timing chains replaced. I have been told that I should have had the water pump replaced also. Anyway how much do you charge for the upgrades. calgary_redneck 01-07-2004, 02:58 AM If you have a car with a 2.7 get rid of it as fast as possible. RCSMG 01-07-2004, 02:13 PM That's easier said than done. I would love to get rid of it but finances won't allow for that right now. Arew 02-02-2004, 08:45 PM I have been told of many people who have had troubles with the timing chain goin out @ 51,000 or so miles. I had the same trouble. What I would like to do get a class action started since this seems to be a prob. w/ so many people. If you are interested in this, please e-mail me at Anton9582@hotmail.com longhorn11 03-03-2004, 03:21 PM synthetic oil is the best for this particular engine, the cause of timming chain failure is due to sludge buildup. this should get you a longer service life. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
