i spotted this nice looking 2dr 89 civic coupe. and so i sped up to get a closer look at him and he had a rice boy glass pack muffler, type r sticker, dc sports sticker, asian lettering, new civic badges, and a sticker on the back that said IAM Motorsports. so i decided that i'd call his bluff and race him. so i accelerated to get next to him and he started speeding up before i got even with him and soon as i started gaining this car pulled out in front of both of us and be both slammed on our brakes but he had to kind of cut in front of me so he wouldnt hit the car. that was so tight to me, lol. so after the car preceded he let me get even with him and he apologized for cutting me off and i was like its cool. then he told me my car was nice and i was like yeh your car is nice and i really like your stickers (i said that in a challenging way i guess.) at about that point we both stepped on it and i slowly pulled from him on a straight away and we hit some curves he completely pussied out. I WON! then i came to my turn and he i slowed up and we both tossed up 2 fingers and went about our way.

uh. cool. but winning doesn't mean you win cause he pussied out. winning is when your car beats his, not when your phsyche beats his.

i feel that me, the driver, won that race. who will win between identical WRX's? the better driver would. am i correct?

This cannot be repeated often enough. There are to many people claiming victories in battles that were never fought.

By the way, Honda never made a two door sedan or coupe in 89. They started in the 5th generation. But it was probably a car like mine...a 4dr.:D

haha, good one reyke. but i feel that racing is sometimes more than just mashing on the gas and driving in a straight line. any dumbass can do that. to be able to take curves at high speeds takes some skill.

But your car is stock, its not going to preform like a modded auto-crosser... this is why people get hurt. Stay away from the curves till you hop up the suspension and hit the SCCA "time trials" track a few times... these people will teach you more in 15 minutes then you can learn in 15 years :D

I posted my races from 3geez.com. all of these races were actually spread over a period of 5 months. i'm not some lunatic who's whole purpose of driving is to race. I think you might want to lay off some partner.

Hey Jerren, I'm not trying to diss you, but last time I saw any 3rd gen accords at the track, they were automatic(fuelinjected)and were running high17's and low 18's all day long...So my conclusion is that the civic you raced was either automatic or really f*cked up. My buddy has a totally stock 89 civic 4dr wtih just a filter on his stock piping and he was running mid16's(manual tranny of course)....

as for your car not being stock, I think that i/h/e is pretty stock to me...I mean, these are you're mods, that's not enough to beat a 89 civic 4dr DX with a manual tranny, especially since you have a slushbox. I hope you don't mind, but I copied it for the lazy folks that don't wanna search....

remember jerren, any car has potential, but no car can beat another more superior car with just i/h/e...that's like all these riceboys saying that they beat a cobra notchback with just i/h/e as their only mods...

As for the transmission swap...I'm not expert, but I've done a couple of civics before...welding the new tranny mount bracket is a little tracky(you don't wanna break an axle a day now do you?)...you better make sure that whoever is doing it better know what they are doing.

I also remember reading up on you wanting a b16 swap for your accord? Why do that? Just buy my motor:D ...fully built ls/vtec turbocharged...ran by a haltech e6k engine management. NOw that would be a badass sleeper.

What about the B20a from the older preludes? You ever consider that? You know that you can throw a vtec head on that too right?

geez pvang you alright in my book

but yeah if you can fit a b20a in that bay and actually my mothers car had a blown head gasket that i replaced and well you know me i just happened to have a b20a head that i was getting worked on and to tell you the truth it bolted right on so if your ever interested and have another car and want to do something interesting to that acc-ord i'd suggest swapping to a dohc head and or maybe a vtec head cuz from what i saw they bolt right up with no problem and plus your car is already EFI which helps you out greatly to begin with

Yeah... personally, I would never put a huge honda emblem on my car... Everyone can tell it's a honda anyway.:rolleyes:

Be carefull when you do that though. Before I started modding my car I was racing an Integra LS around some corners, and he tried an e-brake around a corner, and instead of making it around the corner, he accidentally jumped the curb. Lots of sparks, not good. :)

thats the best part about drifting, you gotta know what your doing. me and some friends around here do it sometimes, nothing big tho, it looks cool when your following someone and they go into a minor drift. i've went off road twice before, very close calls. one almost ran over a stop sign, while sliding sideways and the other i almost went up a steep hill, but i wasnt going fast enough. :flash:

i've stoped doing it in the rain till i get new tires :licker:

p.s. i have a friend that spun out once, it was pretty cool. so far we have all been fairly lucky. i have only cracked my driver side clear side-marker, which is no big deal, i made them myself and it looks kinda cool being broke.
