Greddy Turbo Kit (not sure which one) So does this mean that he had a non-turbo in the first place? If he had a turbo, why would he need a kit? Maybe he had a Greddy turbo upgrade? Either way, the SOHC VTEC motors are pretty good powerplants to turbo-charge, without the blow-by effect DOHC VTEC produces. I would think that it would come down to your particular driving skills, and the way your cars are tuned. Oh, before I forget...it also depends on whose motor stays whole at the end of the run...you never mentioned internal upgrades... zer0bot 08-24-2003, 10:09 PM I am gonna race my friend in a couple of weeks....I was wondering who would most likely win? if he had the turbo model to begin with and did a greddy upgrade him. probably by alot. if he had a non turbo to begin with it would probably a close race and depend on the driver car for car you should win that one. not sure though the 96 civic is heavy.and what year eclipse does he have? if it is a 1gen then it will probaly his race.just my :2cents: zer0 :sunglasse JLB87 08-24-2003, 11:41 PM Wow, 100 shot of Nitrous, that seems like alot to me :p Have you done any work on your block? Ace$nyper 08-25-2003, 01:05 AM yea 100 hit is alot for a stock motor but i'm with what everyone else has said FourG63 97GST 08-25-2003, 02:56 AM hmm,so you both have AEM CAI with a turbo kit? yea sure since they arent any AEM cold air intake for GS-T/X i'm guessing he has a RS/GS and greddy dont have a turbo kit for that plus a 100 shot of nawwsss ? step away from the dvd kiddo :nono: KrNxRaCer00 08-25-2003, 03:36 AM i jus wanna know how this d motor isn't going to blow? :eek7: wut psi are u running at? 100 shot with turbo...not trying to doubt, but that is REALLY hard to believe. EDIT: on stock internals that is... Frozenblue**WS6 08-25-2003, 03:53 AM :bloated: i don't really care... 2 less R/B's off the roads when they blow zer0bot 08-25-2003, 09:52 AM wow i didn't even see the 100 shot of Nitrous. with no internal work done to your car you are doing an unbelievable amount of damage to your motor.the D16Y8 is not the strongest motor internaly. but hey if you blow your motor then it is time for that gsr or ls/vtec swap i guess. anyway good luck to both of you. zer0 :sunglasse 2of9 08-26-2003, 01:33 AM 100 shots of NOS is alot for that civic. didnt u see what happend to Brian Spillner's Eclipse, the e-brakes went off, and he spun around. well, keep us updated with that race. -The Stig- 08-26-2003, 01:47 AM 100 shots of NOS is alot for that civic. didnt u see what happend to Brian Spillner's Eclipse, the e-brakes went off, and he spun around. well, keep us updated with that race. Lets not forget the disappearing floor panel. Neutrino 08-26-2003, 02:26 AM Lets not forget the disappearing floor panel. yeah those floorboad manifolds always create problems Polygon 08-26-2003, 10:40 AM He'll win. That 100 shot of N2O paired with the turbo will tear your little engine apart before the end of the run unless you have built up your internals. Also why ask the question, just go race him and find out who cares if you loose? Paonessa 08-26-2003, 01:33 PM wow the last 10replies are all the same. anyone have anything new to add. oh yeah a 100 shot of nos with a turbo is too much for a d16 engine to take with stock internals(in case you missed that part) VW-Jetta-VW 08-26-2003, 06:40 PM You might take him but your car may not be doing so well after a few races as these guys have said. Maybe a 30-50 shot would be better suited for your car but thats none of my business so i'll answer your question. From reading your post anythings possible, just depends who wrecks first. :2cents: fatninja19 08-26-2003, 09:37 PM yeah those floorboad manifolds always create problems Hey, not only will that car be totally driveable after all that damage, it still has the ability to run from the police!! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
