I am typically pretty mechanically inclined but I can't figure out how to change the headlight on my 93 Honda Civic EX. I bought te car new and this is the first headlight that has needed replacing. Can anyone offer any help? Thanks in advance!

If you're talking about just the bulb, all you have to do is unplug the wire harness, pull off the rubber weather seal, push on the metal wire braket that holds the bulb in place towards the headlight to unhook it, and yank that blown bulb out.

If you mean the whole fixture it requires removing the front bumper.

you have to squeeze the left and right side up the wire harness and pull it off. i had to take my front bumper off to get the whole headlight out. it wasn't too bad

is removing the bumper necessary for replacing the back tail lights too? (i have a 01 civic sedan EX)

no, not with tail lights (on most cars you don't have to remove bumper, never heard of any that do), there are usually a few bolts on the outside of the light, if not, you open the trunk and there will be bolts on the inside (although sometimes you have to remove peices of plastic or carpeting to get to those bolts)

ahh.. then why is my civic being so complicated. the bigger tail light wont come off! the small one came off with ease though.
