I had my car scanned for codes and it was P1457. Thats EVAP control system leak. Does anyone have any experience with this code? Fuel cap, charcole can, solenoid???

Was the DTC cleared? There many things to go along with a P1457 EVAP code at which time an evap test should be run to pin point problem. Leaving the gas cap loose will cause the MIL indicator to appear, topping of the gas too much, & filling while running can cause the light. The light will reset itself after a short time, up to 2 weeks, if one of those listed were the cause. The CVS(canister vent shut) valve is a very common problem.

p1457 Evap leak canister system. This one is not usually set when the fuel cap is left loose (that is a p1456 Evap leak tank system) If you live in an area where they use salt in the winter, you may have a bad canister vent shut valve. These valves are bad about being effected by moisture and the salt. You will need someone with a tester that has the ability to test these valves individually (Honda dealership) to be able to confirm this.

Is this a serious enough problem to have fixed? or can I just leave it for now. And also, where are the canester and the shut valve located?

if you're continue to drive with CEL on, eventually ECU will go into safe mode. in safe mode ECU will disengage VTEC and won't let RPM go higher then 5000.
