Quick question, If you were given 14,000 dollars, what car would you buy and why? Where would you go for your bang for your buck. Used cars preferred.

This question is a little to broad. You need to describe what your "bang" is. Do you like 4 or 2 doors, convertables, trucks, acceleration, topend, handling, durability, style, residual-value, maintenance, bling, abillty to modify, I could go on and on, and everyone is going to have a different bang for the buck. You need to figure out what is most important to you. What do you like?

Personally, I like M cars. I would go for either the E34 M5 or the E30 M3. If you like Roadsters, the 4-cyl Z3's are about 14K+.

I think an E36 325i would fit the bill, they are about $14k in New Zealand

You cant argue with an e30 M3, but personally, i would buy a cheap 325is for about 5000-6000, then pull the old m50 engine swap for 6-7000, with money left for suspension mods, or what ever else you feel the need to do. This setup would give an e30 M3 a stellar beating, but e30 M3's are beautiful cars.
