Aright, I own a 99 honda civic 4-dr VP.

The VP wasn't an official model of the civic till 00. I have the d16 engine with auto tranny.

I want to do the b16a swap, cable tranny and all.

this is the list of stuff from hmotorsonline.com for the engine/tranny/ecu kit.

- Motor
- Cable Tranny (Y1, S1, J1)
- ECU (PR3, PW0)
- Alternator
- Starter
- Clutch
- Flywheel
- Intake Manifold
- Exhaust Manifold
- Fuel Rail
- Injectors
- Distributor
- Engine Harness
- Comes With All Sensors Needed

And here is their complete kit list.

- Motor
- Cable Tranny (Y1, S1, J1)
- ECU (PR3, PW0)
- Axles with Half Shaft
- Shift Linkage*
- Stock Motor Mounts*
- Alternator
- Starter
- Clutch
- Flywheel
- Intake Manifold
- Exhaust Manifold
- Fuel Rail
- Injectors
- Distributor
- Engine Harness
- Comes With All Sensors Needed

so can u guys tell me what from these lists I *WILL* need to get the car going.

The reason I am trying to do this research is because my current engine developed quite a knock last night and i have been pondering a swap for a long time. So PLEASE HELP.
Thanks.

Basically you need a different engine. Your 99 Civic has a hydro tranny not cable so you need a conversion kit. ( not suggested ) You also need to convert everything for your chassis into OBD0 or the motor over to OBDII. A lot of prople think they'll save money to get the 1st gen B16 but when all is said and done you end up paying too much for an old engine. Just get a 2nd gen OBD II B16 and be done with it.
