tires for a 1/4 miles

hi all i have a 88 nisssan pulsar stock it has 195 14's on it i was wondering what kind of effects it would have if i were to put on 15's or even 16's speed wise b/c i know i may get some rubbing..

your times will go up, the smaller the sidewall, typically the slower the launch, but better handling.

You'll raise your times from the average high 19's to the higher average low 20's.

it really depends on what you're doing...
if you get bigger, 16" or so wheels for the street and keep the stock wheels, you can fit the 16" and good tires under the fenders no problem.

you may slow a little, but not alot.

keep in mind that if you put even a nice performance tire (falken azenis in 195/60 14 is only like 45 bucks a tire) on the factory wheels, you'll obviously get better times that the bigger wheels

all this is assuming that the stock wheels are aluminum and lighter than the newer wheels. if you have lighter aftermarket wheels with hi-po rubber, you'll run better/faster than your heavy stock wheels and all-season rubber...

so that covers both aspects.
