Ah well, at least we're able to meet / keep up on AF :)

I'm Ryan, 19, haven't been a member of NZHondas.com for very long, likewise AF.com. Love Hondas in general, but especially Civics. Gimme that 5th gen hatch!! :D Wanna take me for a cruise in it?

I'm a student at University of Canty, but on hols now. Also got a crappy part time job ;)

yeah my little hatch is very fun but my bro from oz just came back and he is driving it now, but within the next month my EK should be just as fast :D

what high school did you go to??

SiRedge
12-04-2001, 05:41 AM
I went to Cashmere High. You?

What engine does your EK have in it?

SiRedge
12-04-2001, 05:42 AM
Just had a look at your pix. Nice cars! That EK looks niiiiiiccceee :D

Can't wait to get my project car (see below)

i wented to Burnside, i use to drive a mazda Lantis with a touring style wing

at the moment i have a D16Y4 engine which is crap but soon i'll have a b18c in it

Eg9 is very nice, my friend has one and the interior is awesome

SiRedge
12-04-2001, 06:20 AM
Yeah, gotta love those whiteface dials :licker:

I've seen that Lantis around, although not recently.

Once you've got the B18C in there that'll go so hard! Oh yeah. Have ya got the engine yet? If so, how much did it set you back?

Wanna meet up sometime? I'd like a good perve at your Civics :D
Mine's not worth perving at yet, but I'll prolly get a 1st gen CRX Si / 3rd gen Civic Si to fill the 1.6 DOHC void until I get the EG9 SiR.

How old are ya?

hehehehe i blew up the engine that was in my lantis :( so i trade it in on my EK, i've brought a B18c complete with gearbox, computer and wiring loom for $3300 and i'm waiting for the guy to send it down to me, hopefully it should be very soon

i'm 20 years old and my car is normaly parked outside a shell petrol station on ferry Rd, i work across at the fish and chip shop but i'm only there at nights or on friday and saturday night about 9pm-10pm i'm parked on colombo st, the town hall end (i pick up my girlfriend from work)

so where abouts do you work?

SiRedge
12-05-2001, 04:24 PM
Part time at Big Fresh Moorhouse ave. Not the greatest job on earth, I agree... but at least I only have to work on Tuesday and Sunday nights.

$3300? Isn't that a bit steep? Where'd ya get it from?
B18C1 I take it? B18C5 would be nice... hehe :flash:

I thought getting a B18C into a Civic was a fairly tight fit... How much is it gonna cost you to install it? Or, if you're doing it at home / with mates, could I sit in on the install?

its just a normal b18c1 but they are so hard to come by, i rang strong honda and they don't have any in stock but when they do its at least $4500, i also tryed NZ car parts and they were the same $4500 if they get one

i'm getting a mate to do it, not sure at his place, my place or my girlfriends place but i will need to get a auto sparky to wire it up for me then i need to get it cert so i'm not sure when it will all be finished, since my brother is here i don't have my other car so i might have to wait til he leaves cause i need a car to get to work

I've had bad experiences with Strong Bros, I keep the heck away from them. When I had to replace the brakelight assembly on my 2nd gen they quoted me $60 and didn't have one anyway. I went to another wrecker and got one for $25. They aways treat me like shit when I go there anyway, so... *&%$ them!

Sucks that you might have to wait, but oh well...

Have to take me for a cruise when the B18C's in :D

12-05-2001, 04:46 PM
YEAH EVERYONE HATES STRONG but since i have a 1996 its very very hard to get parts from other wreckers and normal strong is the only one that has them!!!!

have you heard there is a car show in chch in march?

SiRedge
12-06-2001, 05:04 AM
Bugger, it sucks that you HAVE to use Strong Bros...

Nope, haven't heard about the car show in March... fill me in?

evil_elmo

i just heard that there is going to be a car show in the westpac trust center in march, i want to find some more info, i'll keep you posted

SiRedge
12-06-2001, 08:11 AM
Sounds good. Thanx for the info to start with anyway :)

I'll be getting a "stepping stone" car (before I get into my EG9) soon. I'm thinking 1st gen CRX Si or 3rd gen Civic Si. Maybe a 1st gen Integra, not sure yet. Hopefully I'll have that within a month or so. Then I'll at least have something that has a bit more go than my wagon, and a bit more looks too, I might add...

evil_elmo
12-06-2001, 06:19 PM
i has a 1st integra and i didn't like it, i'll go for a 1st gen crx

SiRedge
12-07-2001, 07:04 AM
Thought as much. Now the only trouble is finding one. Si CRXs (1st gen) are pretty darn hard to find, especially in any sort of decent condition. I could get the 1.5i version, but it's just not the same...

What do you think of the 3rd gen Civic Si?

evil_elmo

they go very well, i couple of my friends had one and they are pretty fast
