Seems like everybody has their version of this car, here's mine. This is one I started months ago, getting it ready for a show in November. My original idea was to make a Nissan factory concept 350Z GT-R as per my art work. I will probably still do that but I have some other idea's too.

I cut the lower center of the 350Z front end out and molded in a Skyline GT-R front end.

I also used the rear lower aerodynamic piece from the Skyline.

Originally I was thinking TS Brilliant Orange with a gold/bronze pearl over it, then bronze the wheels and use SMS Bronze cf decal here and there. :dunno:

Cool stuff! I've noticed that some skyline front have the potential to mate up very well with the Z. The front from the R33 GTR LM kit would work very well, worth someone trying out.

R34 parts are perfect for any cars. Look at my Golf III, it also has the rear from an R34.

Been working hard on the Z this weekend! Got the SAS hood installed, more smoothing done, exhaust tunnels done, fender panel lines rescribed and a coat of Dupont Variprime to see what's left to do. The primer reveal some spot putty work needs to be done and some smoothing here and there, shouldn't be long now.

These will probably be the wheels which are 19" form the Tamiya Volvo BTCC sedan, set behind wide trim rings.

Ive loved the 350 Z ever since the first time i saw it, and i always thought that it always looked best when left alone with no modding, and i didnt like all the modifications ive seen, but if i saw this on a real Z, itd be a whole different story, this is one amazing looking z... good job...

Almost ready for paint? Scribed lines to make the side skirt look like a seperate part, per Fly's suggestion. Also chose different wheel rings which have fasteners around them.

Thanks! The front ones aren't narrower in this picture, the car is so wide that it will wear four back tyres from the Tamiya F50. The chassis is under the car in this pic and as you can see, plenty of room for the massive tyres. :grinyes:

Very close resemblence there.

Got the base coats of Tamiya Brilliant Orange on, it's a lot brighter in person! Trying to decide if I will leave it this color or spray some gold pearl over it, or House of Kolor Butterscotch Pearl. Also considering a wheel change.

Awesome car dude. I like the rims. The lighter colored wheels look awesome with that color, will look cleaner and flow better then the darker ones. Can wait to see the finished product .

That is wicked awesome. The color is just brilliant (ha!). I really love it. I especially love it since I don't have to decide which rims to use... I'd never be able to make that call. You should put a different pair on each side.... They both look great!

Wow! it looks simply stunning. I'd have to say if you did it like nissan factory show car, use the deep dish R34 rims and put that butterscotch pearl over it.

Hello! Long time no see! Not as far along as I'd like to be, but you guys keep me more motivated than you know.

The interior is finished, I used Modeler's seat belts, SMS decals for seat inserts, and Studio 27 etched bits like speakers. I accented with Testors aluminum metalizer and made the shifter from a straight pen.

Still have to polish and trim the body, the pearl coats are on and final clear. Since you can see so much through the SAS hood scoop, I'm putting in the engine bay insert form a maisto diecast 350Z under the hood. I made clear tail light lenses by forming thermoform plastic over the kit lenses, going for the Altezza look here. The chassis is all painted in my on color scheme using Testors Metalizer's. The rear spoiler is from the Tamiya Clation GT-R LM, don't know if it will stay.

Thanks! The Tamiya and Maisto Z are dimensionally very close, so it fits good enough. Can't see that much through the scoop any way.

That interior is amazing. I love the color of the car, and how it carries over into the interior. Pure class. Everything about the car screams wonderfulness. You'll have to do something trick to win me over with those tail lights, though, but if your work so far is any indication, they're going to look awesome too. Awesome car!

Love the clear lenses on the back, they do fit this car terribly well!
also the opening in the hood to show the so called engine is just a genious' touch!
