my pics of a dream car(my own design)

dill_roy

yes. this is of my own design. no, i did not copy or trace it although the perspectives did come from the originals which were edited soo many times they looked like crap. I even desingned the chassis and layout which uses the flat-12 design like the testarossa to distrubute the weight as best as possible.
tell me what you think.

From the looks of your links, the files are located on your harddrive. The paths are showing they are located on your D:\

You need to do 1 of 2 things.

1. post them 1 at a time by using the attach file dialog when you are making a post [remember max size for this is 102400 bytes]

2. Upload them to the web somewhere and use the tags around the url.

If they are bigger than the 102k size limit for AF uploading, and you cannot upload them to a site somewhere on the net, and you only want them posted here for say a week send me a PM [Private Message] and I could host the files for a while for ya, dont worry I wont bite.

If ya need anymore help, dill_roy post again, or PM me.

Not meaning to be rude here, but when has kb not been nice to a newbie? You make it sound like Kb is some sort of newbie hating bastard which is far from the truth. Find a post where kb was not being nice to a newbie and ill back ya up robbie, but until then....

Again......dill_roy, welcome to AF, and enjoy your stay. :D

Sorry man, no one here will be able to see them.

Your links turned out like this

file:///D:/My%20Documents/cars/FXR%20Diamondback/untitled1.bmp

And that is why they dont work for others cause when our comps check that location, that file doesnt exist [we cant see files on your D:\]. Its much more involved than that anyways. [I am a Technician, so I do understand.]

as I said b4, if you want me to host them for a while, I can put them up in my webspace.

if you need more help, pm me

It looks almost like a McLaren F1 , and has different (IHMO uglier , no offence) front...
But anyway it's quite nice , but it has to be more orginal

Just my .02

Right on, dill_roy, i see you managed to use the attach file dialog and get the pics up.

On topic here, I have to say...... WOW

Nice drawings, I sure wish I could draw like that, on the topic of the design itself, It does look a bit like an F1. Its good but I agree with para22, you need a bit more orginality in there.

Im still amazed at the quality of the drawings tho. Awesome dude!, keep working on it! :)

Lookin good dude. I think I'm gonna try to draw like that in history tommorow. Youve inspired me.:D

Hey thanx for the ideas. yeah, that overhead scoop is kinda inert now with the configuration change. i no longer need an intake at the top for the flat-12 config. that was probably the biggest similarity with the F1. i know people claim that the s7 looks like an f1 too because of the scoop. the only other similarities i can think of are the front hood scoops on mine. the overhangs are longer, the wheelbase is alot longer, the overall length is greater, and the stance is much more slim. i can list the dimensions etc. if you guys want me to also. basically the McLaren F1 is just that, a road going F1 vehicle. my car was majorly inspired by the f1 however, it is not based on Formula 1 racing. it's just an optimal performance supercar. at least that's what i hope it will be. glad to be of an inspiration, if you have any other styling suggestions let me know.
-thanks again-
special thanks to the moderator dude kris

dill_roy
12-11-2001, 12:02 PM
ok. i'll be posting a new thread soon with the updated drawings of this car in it. i put that hood scoop on for a different layout but i no longer need it. and seeing as it really makes my car look like the F1, i'm going to remove it. however....it's not a McLaren F1.

I see Vector and McLaren F1. Great pics, though! (I would make the triangle on theback with the logo have some empty space beside them, so it could be used for ground affects)

I think you should raise up a bit the back of the roof so it would fit rear sits for 3, that would make a very comfortable super sports car for 5! :thinkerg: :lol2:
Like I said nice drawings though

it is nice, but it does need more originality. Could yu build it in 3d?

Zammo
12-21-2002, 10:56 AM
with the correct funding ZTi could build things you only dream of

and i cant post plans of it or some corporation will steal and build it

and that would shit me

I leak some info

Xcountry/streetrace Hybrid
AWD
Single Speed Ratio variable Gbox (does exsist)
2 seperate fail safe drive systems that can work in tandem
Variable diameter wheels and
5 stage failsafe computer sys
Composite carbonfibre/Titanium honey comb sandwich body shell construction
ground contour sensing self adj hydraulic suspension (camber, toe, height, damper, rate) Vehicle width and track
full headsup display for all systems and rear and side veiw mirrors (thats y my chops usually dont have mirrors i would install a CCD camera and Winscreen HUD or dash monitor)
when i work out ACAD as good as i have PS ill do a full 3D plan untill then crappy paint drawings will do

Looks like a mix between the Jaguar XJR. McLaren F1 and a Ferrari Testarossa (rear)..
You obviously have a talent at drawing, but try to be a little more original ;)

zyajzarc

how long did it take to draw.. that's pretty much my only question. If you want to be more original...go back to the basics... all "super cars" have the same general cuttin' / swooping shape... they way they are different is by the front (pointed, flat, arching) and the lights. I cannot stress how much on the latter. If you want to see what i'm talking about ... draw like 4-5 of these cars.. slightly chaning the placement of the lights and the shape of the lights (use your rear 3/4 view .. that's the best).. then you'll find something BAD ASS and original! :D .. BTW this is all i do durin' school... w/ my friend.. and he can draw stuff like that.. in 'round 30-40 sec.. w/ all the details.. no joke.

From the side I thought it was an F1 immediatly.. The front is however a little bit blend for my taste, I like the F1 better.. But your good at drawing! very!
